Flowed well, lots going on. New characters in this chapter and set in London.
I picked this up in a charity shop in York because of the principal author, James Patterson and the title Private London. Another book in the Private series; Private Berlin was a real page turner of a thriller. Private London didn’t grip me so much, the services of the exclusive Private Investigation agency are called in when a student is abducted after a drunken night in a student bar. Dan Carter, a Private investigator, had promised to protect her when she came to London and now he finds himself in a race against time to find the abductee and bring the abductors to justice.
There is also a serial killer taking a finger of each victim as a trophy. This might have been interesting if it were the main story, rather than secondary to the abducted student.
There is a lot going on but it is rather convoluted. The minor characters like Carter’s ex wife, Kirsty and gangland boss, Ronnie Allen seem more interesting than the central character, Dan Carter.
The chapters are very short, sometimes needlessly, when one chapter follows on from the next.

Great Read
This was an enjoyable read. This is the second book of the Private series. In this book, we are following the story eight years after Hannah Shapiro was saved in LA by Jack Morgan, the owner of Private. Now, she is in London, and needs the help of former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter, the head of Private London to save her again. Young women have been abducted and found with their bodies mutilated after several days, and Dan’s ex-wife is involved in the investigation. This was a great story. I did think the story was fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt like Dan was an intriguing character. He was not well received by me in the beginning, but he did have get instincts and I admired him for that. I thought the ending was great. I cannot wait to read the third book. Book 3, here I come. Overall, a great read.

This was one of my least Private novels to date. It just didn’t grab me like others have in the past. It just felt forced and it shouldn’t when you’re dealing with such heavy subject matter.
