GO INTO THIS BOOK BLIND.
SERIOUSLY.
DONT READ ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
JUST READ IT AND LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU.

Jesus, I’m bored
I dnf’d this at 29 percent
Not bad but not good
And this does NOT count as my last book for my reading challenge

i went in blind like it was recommended and even though it was a short book i had so many emotions. now that i’ve finished it i want to go back and reread it knowing what i know now!

This book was so different and unique. I don't want to say too much since it's a story that you definitely need to go into blind to truly enjoy the story. I, however, did spoil myself but it did not take anything away from the story but I can't stress enough to not read any spoilers or reviews that detail the plot. Also, please be aware of the trigger warning in the beginning of the book. There are themes that some might take offense to.

Incredibly well written and I just loved ALL the characters. I was in a complete book funk before reading this novel and am so happy it took me out of it. I loved it.

This is my first novel from the author and I know she's known for her dark and extremely taboo books but if they are as well written, thought provoking and emotional as this, it definitely won't be my last.

Sooooo much I wish I could just say in this review but as others told me, I’ll say the same…. Go into this book with no idea what it’s about. Go in blind. Normally I do trigger warnings at the end but full disclosure this book is in serious need of alllllll the trigger warnings. It is very morbid and dark, even hard to read at some points. I will say asking people to go blind into a book with so many triggers doesn’t feel right to me so if child r@pe is something you cannot read then DO NOT pick this book up.

For the actual review… the first half of the book I really couldn’t get into it. There was just something so off about it. It was too lovey for me and then it got confusing and then BAM. Such a plot twist. I was literally screaming out and my fiancé was staring at me asking me to explain but I couldn’t. I had to go back a few pages to make sure I was understanding what I thought I was. The first half of the book I was ready to give 2 stars and honestly not finish but It’s such a short read I figured I’d push through and just wow.

I can’t truly recommend this book with how sickening it really is but at the same time I just want to find someone to talk about this book with. It’s definitely a book that will leave me thinking about it for a long time and I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good thing or not! It was just a rollercoaster of emotions. 4 stars because it’s leaving an impact on me and the plot twist really just had my mind blown but I truly don’t even know if this was a “good book” or just one that left me in shock.

I was intrigued.
I read it quickly.
And I thought it was good! I know the book says to go in blind and it’s best without spoilers but there are some MAJOR trigger warnings to be had.

Not to mention the fact that the story would make zero sense at all with no context.

I was glad I read a spoiler about the big twist. It gave me more perspective while reading

Edit: ok after my initial review. I thought more on it. And this book is incredibly problematic.
I lowered my star rating and honestly I think the spoilers are necessary
Mental health wellness is glossed right over, yeo apparently has a magic filled dick and it can completely correct years and years of kady’s childhood trauma.
Bones is racist AF. I don’t care if it’s a made up character or a real life person. Racist isn’t cool or funny and it wasn’t necessary to the plot.
The sex was weird, it wasn’t necessary to the story and I could have gone without honestly.
And the writing was disjointed. I’m super surprised a lot of this novel snuck past the editors.

I was definitely interested while reading. But ultimately I was not happy with the ending.

This book definitely kept me interested. Had a huge OMG moment which made me think back on the first half of the book in a different light. Did not expect it. But as the book went on it sort of flattened for me.

5 ++++ ROARING stars

"Madness and chaos take over until I'm begging for my bed and peace and the one who still holds my bleeding heart in his hands. I need quiet. I need order. A reprieve from the roars. My world offers me the briefest glimpse of happiness when I'm able to silence the deafening chaos in my little town. I can survive when it's only the whispers."

Let me just start off by saying this is best book Ms. Webster has EVER WRITTEN. Just amazing. We get thrown into the story right off the bat and as the story unfolds, the book gets better and better. The hero and heroine are described in such depth that you truly feel as though you know them like the back of your hand. The supporting characters also play a crucial role in the story; each character as complex as the next.

The twist in this book was something that I DID NOT see coming. It sets this book apart from EVERY OTHER romance novel I have read. No joke, you will be shocked.

If you are a fan of dark and taboo romance novels that actually make you THINK and FEEL, then this is the book for you.
