ameliamia's review

Went into this totally blind like I was told and I do recommend that  (I’m marking the rest as spoiler for that and I have an account spoiler in here )
but it’s just not for me, I had no idea what was going on, everything felt weirdly fake - which I guess was  the intention but the chemistry between kady and yeo just wasn’t there for me and I enjoyed the “wtf” moment when we learned that yeo was with bones then the “OOHHHH OKAY THAT MAKES MORE SENSE “ but bones was also
Part of the reason i was hating the book before the twist and I just bleh im over it

Woah, this story! Everyone said to go in blind, and after meeting a certain character and seeing the relationship he has with our Hero, I was upset. Its something that should be in the description. I thought about how I would tell it all it my review of the book. Despite my discomfort I kept reading and I’m so happy that I did. There so much I can say about this story but I’m going to keep it to what I think is best, and only say this...
Bring some tissue and go into this shit blind.
dark emotional medium-paced

Go in to this book blind! I can't stress that enough!

This book was NOT what I was expecting. The twist definitely fooled me; and I enjoyed this story more after knowing what was going on.

Such an interesting idea.

overall the writing was unimpressive but the twist was probably one of the most memorable storylines! if you’re going to read, definitely go in blind!

2 -Nos hizo falta más investigación-

*SPOILER ALERT*

I really was enjoying the story, then I figured out the major plot twist and then I started to feel bored. Overall, I like it and thought it was an interesting read, BUTTTT I have to say there were a few moments that brought the book down. One example was a part where a random character was described (paraphrasing) heavier but still beautiful. Seriously, was that necessary?

***THIS STANDALONE IS BEST ENJOYED WHEN YOU DON'T READ ANY REVIEWS OR SPOILERS BEFORE READING. GOING IN BLIND IS BEST. TRUST ME.**

Warning:Whispers and the Roars is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. The abuse written in this story is graphic and not glossed over, which could be upsetting to some. This story is NOT for everyone. Proceed with caution.

All the above are warnings from the author and I completely agree with them. Normally I’m not the type of person to be affected by anything but this book blew my mind away. At the beginning it’s a little slow and I even thought about DNFing but please stick around because you’ll be definitely shocked how the story develops. This book definitely questions your mental state of mind. It was a good read and I hope you go in as blind as I did. Happy readings!

This book had an interesting twist, annnddd that’s about where the pros of this book start and end for me. My biggest gripe is that the characters are HIGHLY underdeveloped except for Bones. Yeo is desperately in love with Kady but I have no clue why, it feels like a power imbalance. Kady seems like a child and has no personality outside of her trauma, she was so underdeveloped and childlike it was awkward reading about her in adult situations. Also, Yeo is this absolutely perfect guy with seemingly no faults, and is obsessed with taking care of Kady (but again, WHY does he love her so much????). Unfortunately this was not the book for me.

Very cool concept; difficult subject matter that made it tough to read at times.
