k webster doesn't disappoint once again, i went into this book a bit "oh what am i going to read" but by 10% in i was hooked.
haven't read a book from the fabulous author i haven't devoured yet.
great job Miss Webster.
Definitely reccomend everyone reading this book.
i voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

wow! just freaking wow!! I'm totally mind blown !
this was beautifully and awesomely written!
never in my life did I expected this kind of revelation, holy crap.
It didn't even crossed my mind that something was ood, until the photo album made an appearance.
the relationship was beautiful and I'm glad his family showed support and understanding and that happy ending was the most ideal ending for such a story.

I don't know how but I did guess that big reveal. I feel quite smug about that. Overall I did find this interesting but it wasn't quite polished enough.

Go into this book blind & don’t read what it’s about! There is a TW at the beginning of the book, so be mindful of that.

This post contains <SPOILERS> I don't usually bash books because I know that a lot of time, effort and energy goes into the process. However, this book was terrible for many reasons. It seems like the author went about writing about Dissociative Identity Disorder (formally know as Multiple Personality Disorder) with minimal research, which I find irresponsible as it is a rare condition induced by severe trauma. I feel that if you decide to write about something like this, you also take on a certain level of responsibility and should be accountable.

So. The love interest of the person with DID holds a dinner in hopes of making his family understand what is happening with the woman he loves. During said dinner, the personalities come out at different times and introduce themselves to the family. That is NOT how DID manifests, smh. It's like she literally leaves the room and comes back in as another person and just starts explaining that personality. It was almost laughable. I do not see how this book got rave reviews, but maybe it's  just me 🤷🏾‍♀️

No.

This book is very well written and does a good job of portraying mental illness. I would have been more shocked at the premise if I hadn’t already read Sybil but still a good quick read.

Spoiler filled summary:

The whispers are the positive affirmations and whispers she tries to give herself. While the roars are the anxiety and the overwhelming negativity and voices. Kady is haunted by someone named Norman, feeling like he'll find her. Oh shit, Norman might be her dad. Kady and her family struggle with money after the one night that changed everything, Her Aunt Suzy is a couponing queen that helps while Officer Joe brings food by if things get too hard. Kady pushed her lover into leaving to go to college so he wouldn't leave his dreams behind for her. People think she's a monster because of Norman, hm. I'm getting that Norman sexually assaulted her, Norman still "come around" apparently so I still don't know what big THING happened surrounding him. Yeo is obsessed and in love with Kadence (Kady!) even though she pushed him into pursuing his education - letting him know he can't possibly support her or offer her anything without financial gain. It's been 12 years and Kady's been dodging his calls, he usually speaks to Bones when he calls Kady - his best friend, (not sure why he's there, yet) or stalks her facebook page. Yeo is South Korean. Kady pushed Yeo away but is running away from him when he wants her back and Bones is only helping. Yeo and Kady finally make up and start messing around as if there was no time between them. Yeo's whole family doesn't like Kady because they think that she'll ruin their reputation based on how wealthy they are. When Kady and Yeo first met, Yeo's dad forbid him from going over there - possibly because Norman was physically abusing Louise (They're Kady's parents). Bones got a new tattoo for Yeo - I kind've ship them, shit. Oh shittt, Bones grabbed his dick in the car,  there is a past! Kady knew about it and even beat off to it. This book is better than I thought! Yeo took Kady's virginity and I believe she was also his first. Yeo's dad finally senses there may be more to Kady and is willing to come over and meet her family. When Kady blacks out she thinks of her dad Norman. He used to abuse her sexually and come into her bedroom at night. It's revealed that Kady was pregnant with his child but they lost it earlier on, they always wear condoms now - she's afraid of parenting and fathers after what her own dad did. Yeo wants to stop because he sought out Bones sexually to release tension when Kady refused to talk to him but never took any other partners. He only thought of Kady the whole time. HUHHH is Bones in Kady's head ? Holy shit Kady has multiple personalities and everyone is an alter! Aunt Suzy and Agatha aren't  real, Bones isn't real, Presley a little girl that needed help to get away from the dad similarly to Kady is an alter, Officer Joe, AND EVEN WHISKERS THE CAT ISNT REAL TF! She has an alter as a police officer. Yeo's family thinks she needs help after he showed them the alter book and she was acting a fool at lunch - taking off her shirt acting as Bones. Bones alter ego is replacing the son Kady's parents lost. The alters can communicate inside of Kady's mind it seems and Bones is trying is best to get rid of the bad alters within Kady's mind while Yeo has to physically restrain Kenneth (Kady's bad alter) from self harming further. Kady is seeking therapy from Dr. Pawan aka Kush (Yeo's friend). The alters are going quiet as her therapy sessions progress. The real Norman killed Kady's mom. Bones went after the last bad alter to kill him and ended up stabbing himself. After the self inflicted wound and ending up in the hospital, all of the alters have gone silent - the bad ones completely disappeared and the ones that loved her staying in the background, out of reach from her. She now gives all of Bones' Cheetos away because she had a whole draw for him. In the end Kady and Yeo get married, living in their own place. Bones and the rest of the family was able to watch the wedding day one last time from her mind but no one interferes, they love her and want her to have a chance to succeed in life without her alters.

Final Thoughts:

I like Bones, LOL. His personality super attractive - only in book form, of course. This book is actually pretty damn funny. Yeo is a mf sweetheart and I want me a Yeo! Mans did not let go of his Kadydid! I need that dedication, the sexual validation, and the passion, WHEW. The
sex scene with Bones! Holy shit was hot hot hot!!
This was a beautiful story about how Kady got through some traumatizing times within her childhood. It is hope and strength, everyone needs a Yeo that'll stick by you through thick and thin, and this story was most definitely thick.
