I’m being generous by giving this book 2 stars.

When I wrote a summary in my book journal, it sounded even more ridiculous. It’s predictable. I really don’t like romance books so I should’ve known better.

DID NOT FINISH

Had a hard time getting into the book.

This novel alternates timelines each chapter, which made it a slow start for me. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for my campground book club, I probably would have put it down around the 15% mark. But by the halfway point, the story drew me in, and I ended up enjoying it much more than expected. At its heart, it’s about women finding their place in the world, but it also weaves in intriguing paranormal elements that keep you questioning what’s real and what isn’t until the very end.
