fuckery.

A good story of a pining heroine and unrequited love.

Loved Ares and Raven's angst,
Hated the sister and the mother ( justified at it too )
( Took me 2 years to pick it back up but i am glad )
To reading the other books soon

Bad writing, too smutty

WOW! Absolutely phenomenal! The wrong bride is the first book by Cat that I read and I was beyond impressed in her writing and her ability to hook you from the jump.
I seen The Wrong Bride advertised on TikTok so I gave it a try and within the first few minutes I was hooked and couldnt put the book down until I finished the entire book.

So for starters, I loved how the chapters were setup, they were short and flowed really well. Each chapter flowed into the next with absolute ease. The plot was phenomenal and kept you on your toes throughout. BUT prepare your emotions from the start, there will be many parts throughout the entirety of the book that will have you feeling like you’re on an emotional roller coaster. I went into this book blind only going off the blurb that was advertised on TikTok and I will say when I read the title and the blurb I was not expecting the twists and turns that this story will take you on.

SPOILER ALERT!!

Secondly, Hannah is absolute TRASH! She is beyond toxic! Think of the ugly step-sisters from Cinderella and double it and it still wouldn’t touch on how evil of a person Hannah is. She was manipulative and conniving to get what she wants. She is beyond jealous of her little sister and did everything she could to ruin her sister Raven. She didnt deserve a sister like Raven especially when all Raven did was love her. Hannah was given a second chance at life because of Raven but that never matter to Hannah and she made sure to remind Raven of that.

Some of the hardest chapters to read were those between Raven and her mother and sister. I felt sorry for her that she had to deal with that her entire life and it made me want to jump into the book and beat the crap out of them for how poorly they treated her. Ravens entire family was trash — Her mother was no mother to her, she loved and favored Hannah. Her father — even though he had tender moments when Raven, he never stood up to her mother like he should have. He allowed them to treat her the way they did and opted for blind arrogance. Thankfully, in the end Raven cut both women out her life since all they brought was negativity towards her life and she had more than enough love and support from the Windsor family.

Raven Windsor — she is kind, caring, lovable and respectful to a fault. Her biggest downfall is she is 100% a doormat for the first 60% of the book. She finally finds her voice and her back bone in the back portion of the book, my only wish is that she would of done this sooner. She has so many insecurities throughout majority of the book and its understandable why but I wish she would have put her foot down sooner, it would have save her so much hurt.

Ares Windsor — there were times throughout the story I did not like Ares. He lived his life by honor and family but there were times he did not do that for Raven as his wife and that irked. I totally get certain events had to happen for the storyline but what irked me the most throughout everything was in the back half of the book Ares confronts Hannah and tells her he knew ALL ALONG she wasn’t faithful to him throughout their entire relationship and he didn’t care — so I have TWO questions that still dont sit well with me after reading the entire series to date 1. WHY WAS HE SO ADAMANT ON MARRYING HER? and 2. Why the HELL didn’t he demand a paternity test before essentially blowing up his life? if he knew she wasn’t faithful why the hell did he immediately believe that it was his without proof other than how far along she was.

NOW Ares and Raven together — OMG! I loved the way they were with each other once they allowed themselves to give into their feelings and they are absolute couple goals through the entire series!
