Book Review

Title: Chainsaw Man Vol. 11 by Tatsuki Fujimoto

Genre: Manga, Fantasy, Horror

Rating: 5 Stars

Volume 11 focuses entirely on the final battle between Makima and Denji and it was great. Makima believes that Denji is gone and Kishibe warns him the next time he becomes Chainsaw Man, Makima will come to kill him. Denji is torn since he wants to be Chainsaw Man and fulfil his dream but he needs to get rid of Makima in order to do that but despite everything she has done he still cares for her.

Denji ends up coming up with a plan for the final fight and heads out to meet Makima as Denji not Chainsaw Man which enrages her as she wants Chainsaw Man not Denji. He realises in this moment, Makima never saw him as Denji only as the vessel for Chainsaw Man, the real object of her desires. He uses this to his advantage in the fight and when Makima takes his heart she lets her guard down and allows Denji to land the killing blow.

In order to make sure she is gone for good Denji eats every part of Makima and tries to move on with his life. He continues to be Chainsaw Man ridding the world of devils and earning the love and affection of the humans he protects. However. Kishibe introduces him to Nayuta who is the reincarnation of the control devil and entrusts her to Denji to raise. Pochita explains to Denji that he granted Pochita’s dream by hugging him and he asks Denji to grant to control devil’s dream which was to have a family so Denji takes in Nayuta who reminds him a lot of Power. This makes the end of Part 1 of the Chainsaw Man manga and while volumes 12 and 13 have dropped in English and volume 14 has dropped in Japanese, I won’t be continuing with the manga until there are a few more volumes for me to binge.

Unexpected banger tbh

OMG?????????

what an ending to this arc. what an ending.

this started as a very mid manga, in my opinion. and i couldn't understand the hype until volume 9, but now i kind of get it.

this manga had a glow up and i can't wait for the next arc in the story.
