I’m not sure if I missed something since I listened to this instead of read it but found this to be boring and I didn’t care about the mystery

It’s New Year’s Eve Y2K and everyone expects tragedy with the coming of the millennium. But no one expects the horrific attack in Linden, New Jersey on a group of teenage Blockbuster employees that happens that night, leaving one survivor. The perpetrator is never caught and time seems to mend the community until an eerily similar attack occurs at an ice cream shop 15 years later, again leaving one survivor. Can the authorities track down the killers and find out why these two women were spared?

Alex Finlay does a beautiful job of knitting together each piece of this thriller with short chapters told from various character perspectives, who all feel relatable in their own ways. I felt the book was a quick read and that each chapter got me a little closer to figuring out the plot, only to still be surprised at the end. A great Who-Dunnit novel that will keep you guessing and the adrenaline pumping at the final few chapters.
