A brilliant book. I absolutely loved it! Usually I would never give 5 stars to a book that had so much animal products in, or didn't really like vegetarians or vegans, but because the main character criticised many people (and there wasn't really any criticism as such, to be honest) it didn't bother me.

Such an hilarious book that I couldn't put down. One of the most enjoyable books I've read this year. Highly recommend.

This is an easy read and I really like the main character Don. He used to be an adorable, highly structured and functional character until he met Rosie, then his world collapsed and changed, thus the title: The Rose Project. The strong point of this book, certainly, is the characterization. I love every character in the book as they are all "faulty" in a way, and yet strives hard for the people they love. To be honest, I like Don as he was in the beginning of the book and though I appreciate the efforts he dedicated on the Rosie project and the extent he went to pursue this project, I'd rather he remained the good old Don and eat lobsters every Tuesday. What's the problem with structure anyway!?

The main problem with the story is the instable plotline. While the title is The Rosie Project, Don went through so many projects along the way it seems the novel itself lost focus at some point. It's a pity because it would be most interesting if Simsion had dwelt a bit more on the wife project instead of other projects.

Really, the plot is worth 3 stars but Don and Rosie, Jean and Claudia made my life so much more enjoyable that I had to bump the rating to 4 stars.

After seeing reviews for this one online, A Friend kindly gifted me this one for Christmas and I decided that it was the perfect book to start whilst on Holiday & I went in a little blind to this one but still really enjoyed the reading experience.

Don Tillman is a genetics professor in his late 30s who sets out to find a spouse by devising an elaborate questionnaire. Don is very fussy and regimented in his life, and allusions are made to him having Asperger's. Don thinks he can weed out any unsuitable partners and find someone well-matched for him. Meanwhile, he bumps into a woman named Rosie, who Don agrees is totally unsuitable, but he likes spending time with her anyway.

Simsion has done a great job at adding a lot of humour to the characters within this one and it very much reads like a Romantic Comedy but beyond that the wiring is clever and really engaging. Don makes social gaffes, but what I liked is how practical and resilient he was in such situations. He recognised his gifts, such as being smart, dedicated and having an excellent memory, and he used those talents to help him navigate this new world involving Rosie.

I’m looking forward to continuing on with this series!
