Great insight on how chefs manage chaos in the kitchen -- with fantastic tips to adapting their "mise-en-place" strategies to the workplace. Though it's clearly directed at office workers, even as a farmer I found the exercises useful in organizing tasks, tools, and appointments for the day. I can imagine it would be doubly useful for a more typical worker. It's cleanly written with a conversational tone, and only dives into what I call douchespeak in the concluding pages (e.g., "Adjust the order of each Mission to display the proper Frontburner at the top. Order the next several Backburners."). It's just a little too cute and jargony at the end. But this doesn't really diminish the effectiveness of the overarching strategy.

Sehr schöner Einblick in die Arbeit in professionellen Küchen und interessante Ideen über die tägliche Arbeit - gerade auch im Büro.

I'm finished with Work Clean: The principles outlined in this book, and the stories told to illustrate them are very relatable. It only lost me at the end, when it started talking about applying mise-en-place in the workplace. As a retiree, I couldn't relate.
