Deliverance is part of the Gallows Hill world and follows our favourite best friend and side character, Maggie, alongside the initially less likable, Bridgette. But its always important to remember, there are two sides to every story….

Deliverance begins in the summer before Skyla (FMC Books 1-3) arrives in Salem and continues throughout the trilogy and a little beyond.

I cannot explain how happy I was to return to the world of Gallows Hill. If I was able, I would have practically skipped down those hallowed halls in excitement.

Yet again Katelyn Taylor has delivered a masterpiece in tension, spice and forbidden love. I didn’t think I could love Maggie more, but bam, along came Deliverance and my adoration skyrocketed. After the original trilogy I was unsure if my feelings towards Bridgette could be resolved. No spoilers, all I’ll say is “well, shit” in my best Leslie Jordan voice.

Deliverance deals with some dark topics, but as always, Katelyn handles them in a sensitive, yet straightforward manner, delving straight for the heart (the characters and mine). As usual the banter is sublime, and the spice? Ohhhh the spice. I can almost guarantee that the bi-awakening in the book will not be the only one after people read this.

Down with the patriarchy - 5🌟

One of my most anticipated reads- not only because I DEVOURED the Gallows Hill series and could NOT get enough of this deliciously dark, epically emotional, and sensationally sexy world Katelyn Taylor has created. I loved the trilogy, but I was thirsty for more...from this world, but especially about two stepsisters who CLEARLY had a lot going on between them. Skyla's best friend and one of the many bullies/villains from Skyla's story?? I mean it's salacious in the best way, and I knew I would eat this up.

And OH MY did this hit hard- not only is it as entertaining as Skyla's trilogy, but there's just so much under the surface. With only two in the relationship, Katelyn was able to dig even deeper into the pysche, the trauma, the tension, the growth between these two. I knew there was clearly some toxic dimensions that colored their dynamic, but there is SO MUCH MORE under the surface of both of these women. In fact, to me their story has felt the darkest of the series so far...which is saying a lot because these kiddos have gotten in a lot of messed up shiz.

Maggie obviously already had my heart- the loyal, sassy friend of Skyla who I adored both because of how fiercely she loved our girl Skyla but also because she had balls of brass. She was fearless in being who she is, she's fun and playful and strong. But we had seen glimpses of her vulnerability, particularly as it related to her stepsister Bridgette, so I was really excited to get to the squishier side of Maggie. Bridgette, on the other hand, I knew would have to do a lot to win me over. She was the mystery- clearly there was something between her and Maggie...and we TRUST Maggie, so there had to be more to Bridgette than the nasty biatch we saw in the Gallows trilogy. And she's the character that's truly the revelation. She's the epitome of hurt people-hurt people. There is so much pain underneath this character- heartbreaking pain. She's misunderstood in some ways...and in others, she's still a bit of a mean girl. And I really loved that Katelyn didn't completely alter the DNA of this character- she's done some messed up things out of hurt and pain and envy and desperation. And doesn't make excuses for it- but she's also had a lot of messed up things done TO HER and that has shaped her in ways she's still unpacking.

The chemistry between these two is fire, and there is so much emotion...and HEAT! I was so excited to see Katelyn take on a FF relationship dynamic- and it's got it all. Substantive emotional connection...AND HOLY HOTNESS SO MUCH SMUTTY DELICIOUSNESS.

Deliverance definitely DELIVERED (#punny) on the story I was desperate for with Maggie and Bridgette- gosh I loved this messed up Gallows Hill world so much. I also can't wait for this on audio.

I have loved all of the other books in the Gallow Hills series, and other books of Katelyn Taylor’s. However, this one is written like you’re reading through a teenage girls journal. I was struggling through the writing, but then I learned that there is a mommy kink later on so I’m gonna bow out early.

Reading Deliverance was like rewatching your favorite show or movie, and reliving it all over again. Just from the point of view of the characters you wanted to know more about. I love being brought back to the world that I love but get to see the real story between the secondary characters that we loved/hated, to be honest. I already loved Maggie but hated Bridgette, but being able to really see what was going on for both of them and between them made me have a new love for them both, and the story was so good. I loved the edition to the story I already loved.

Deliverance by Katelyn Taylor is an extension of The Gallows Hill universe. If you followed Maggie Bartlett’s journey as Skyla’s loyal best friend in Deceit, Descent, and Demise, you’ll fall even deeper for her in this raw and beautifully painful story.

After the loss of her father, Maggie is thrust into a new family dynamic that includes Bridgette Benton. The same Bridgette who carried bitterness toward Skylar, fueled by her feelings for Asher. But Deliverance cracks her open in ways I never expected. Behind her sharp edges and bitterness, we uncover a story rooted in loneliness, abandonment, and a desperate need to be seen. Maggie’s bond with Bridgette unfolds in a society where their love is forbidden, forcing them to navigate secret moments filled with fear and aching tenderness.

Maggie is everything, she is genuine. Her humor, her doubts, her stubborn heart, it’s impossible not to connect with her. And Bridgette? She will absolutely wreck you. Especially in those late chapters when the weight of her past finally spills out.

Katelyn Taylor doesn’t shy away from the darker themes, so I definitely recommend checking the trigger warnings. But even with the heavy moments, Deliverance delivers a story of resilience, hope, and unexpected love. I highly recommend reading The Gallows Hill trilogy first to truly appreciate the layers and character crossovers woven into this story.

Thank you, Katelyn Taylor, for allowing me to experience Maggie and Bridgette’s story. It was everything 💋🖤

I'm really happy we got Maggie's story!

This book broke me, then put me together! I loved Maggie and Bridget's story about what was going on with them in the background of the other three books.

The spice, the love, the betrayal, the forgiveness, and the revenge were just perfect.

Torn on the rating for this one… I really didn’t want Bridgette to have a redemption arc but she won me over. Where this didn’t hit for me was some of the plot lost me.

This was my first Katelyn Taylor book and babyyy it will NOT be my last! I signed up for some steamy step-sister FF drama… and got wrecked emotionally instead 🚨. Trauma? Check. Character growth that had me crying and cheering? Check. Spice so hot I needed a fan?? DOUBLE CHECK 🔥🔥. And don’t even get me started on the plot — it ate.

Bridgette had me ready to square up at first ✊ but by the end, she had my whole heart. If you haven’t read the Gallows Hill series yet, go do that first — unless you like spoilers (I don’t judge) 👀. Also, serious trigger warnings with this one. Katelyn did NOT come to play!
