She told her story in a way that reflected her life, opinions and views on the world and how life was happening to her. I was expecting a more empowering story.

I love a book that draws me in not only with a compelling story and characters that bring that story to life, but one that also opens the doors to a new way of seeing and understanding a wold that I was not aware of before. This gifted book had a vivid prose style that quickly drew me in and made me feel like close friend of the author's catching up with her over a cup of coffee. I. these pages, I was able to explore and share a world that is often limited from public view. With an honesty that is in terms inspiring in its creativity and thought provoking in its awareness, this book made me pause to consider what I would do or think in her place. What more can you ask from a memoir?

emotional reflective slow-paced

I really liked this memoir about a woman adjusting to life as a military wife and living in Georgia. Interesting insights into the sacrifices our military families make when their husbands and fathers are deployed, which only increased the empathy I have for the families of the kids I teach whose parents are active military members.
