Seidensticker's translation is an easier read, but Tyler's version includes a lot of interesting context about linguistics and naming conventions—I recommend reading Seidensticker first, and then Tyler, or in tandem (I also happen to prefer Seidensticker's translations of the poetry).
Would recommend, it's worth the time and effort.

This was a hard book to read. The theme could barely make up for narrative style and I struggled trough it. I am still glad to have read it and could not help but notice minute details that were not so far away from the dynamics in societies across the world today.
There were some issues that were hard to read for their content and while there is no explicit content per se, there are some things that made for even more frightening read for the things that were only hinted at...

I gave up. The translation in this edition is too tedious to be worth struggling through. I'm going to get one of the established ones.
