My undying love for Disney was able to overcome the slight disappointment of this shallow retelling from Ursula's perspective. I knew coming in from the page count this wasn't going to be an in depth look into one of the most evil of villains. With that said, I did still enjoy reading it and found it entertaining. I liked the peak into Ursula's backstory, but I was most intrigued by the ending. I am curious to see what villain is next.

*I didn't read the first two in the this series, but felt it didn't hinder me in anyway*

I realized why I enjoy these books a lot and it's because the crossovers of the villains knowing each other reminds me of Kingdom Hearts

Poor Unfortunate Souls is about Ursula's life before she became evil, and what led up to it.

I don't like these books and I don't like the characters. Its as simple as that, and I'm glad this was short so I can say I completed it and not mark it as a dnf. When its a book about a Disney villan and is marketed as such, that is what I expect, not about someone else. Not much at all is actually about Ursula or the little mermaid story or what happened before that.
