Ha sido una historia cortita y me ha gustado bastante la verdad, si que me hubiera gustado que se centrará más en Úrsula ( que si se centra pero me ha faltado algo

I've been doing the audiobook version of these books and so far they're okay. The narrator's voice can be a bit off-putting at times (like when she'd read as Snow White) but overall I didn't have much issue... until this one.

The odd witches voices made me want to claw my own eardrums out and I'm already hard of hearing as it is. These characters feature much more prominently in this book so they become far more grating. However, as we get toward the end - these characters become so repetitive that I absolutely couldn't stand it anymore and started to use the skip/fast forward option and I didn't miss anything.

However, it's these characters that really have nothing to do with the traditional story of Little Mermaid that has their own storyline which happens to feature more prominently in this tale as the secondary story starts to come to its peak between this and the next book. We are once again given the pretty standard version of this story but this time (and I have no idea how they managed to legally get away with this) they used actual dialogue and song lyrics from the 1989 Disney version throughout - specifically the Poor Unfortunate Soul part. Verbatim.

I was curious to see how Ursula's turn to villainy was going to be made "more understanding" and was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable and believable backstory that was presented. It was presented in a pretty chopped-up, time-jumping way that could be a bit - not confusing, necessarily... but disjointed way.

While written as the primary story it is really just background noise as the secondary story that was initially introduced in the first book is brought way more into the picture and we become far more invested in that story. It's been an interesting and refreshingly clever way to tie all the stories together into the same universe. Keeping each of the primary stories as short as they are is a good choice as well because, while there are differences, there aren't enough changed or uniquely added elements to warrant more page time.

I finished thisbook in one sitting. I wasn't too impressed with this one as the Author took the focus off Ursula and The Little Mermaid. I felt as there were other back stories added that weren't really related to this story. 3 stars from me.

Eleanor does not want to review this book.

I will say that I am really enjoying the entire series but I especially love how all the stories are connected even when one specific villain is taking the lead. The stories feel like the originals but we are getting the backstage version and I really like it. I think the backstory of Ursula and Triton was really interesting and I definitely had to edit a bit when I was reading to Eleanor just to make things easier for her to understand. But we are both enjoying the series and really liked this book.

So many things..Triton and Ursula are siblings!! What?! Who had an argument bc Ursula was left in the sea by her brother and was adopted by a human man who was killed by the town for being sympathetic to sea life. The story was about how Ursula was trying to punish her brother for her loss & got absorbed by hate. Her power was in her shell necklace. It followed the 3 witch sisters again who's sister was captured by Ursula.
Not sure how a Princess Tulip played into it maybe setting up for A future story, also who she??
Ps this is from Disney company
Also future movie idea...what happened to Ursula's power necklace after she got stabbed & unalived by Eric's boat? New villian? Also maybe a prequel with Triton & Ursula. He's a jerk btw.

I like this book better than the second book. The Little Mermaid it is my favorite of the stories, so I really enjoyed Ursula’s point of view. I listened to this as part of the collection, and I enjoyed the audible narration for all three of the stories.
