Can I just start by saying how awesome this cover looks! Ursula is badass and this cover emphasises that!
I love Disney alternatives, I find they are lovely little reads that twist everything I watched when I was a child. After reading this I will now look at the bigger picture of The Little Mermaid.
I loved the links to the other Disney classics and I love the fact the book quoted the film at times.
Such an enjoyable, easy little read and I can't wait to get on with the next one.

I rounded up from a 2.5. I’ve read many fairy tale retellings and just found this one lacking some substance.

Book #4 Read in 2017
Poor Unfortunate Soul by Serena Valentino
This is the last book in the Disney villain trilogy. This book focuses on the backstory of Ursula, the sea monster from The Little Mermaid. It deals of her deal with Ariel and how she gets Ariel's voice and why Ursula is so angry. The weird sisters play a role in this book as they have in the other books. A good read, I borrowed this book from the town library.

I love The Little Mermaid. I wanted to be Ariel when I was growing up. As I got older I understood Ursula more and more. I find this with Disney Villains. This book had everything lined up for me to love it.
Similar to The Beast Within, this tells the story of Ursula from her perspective. It makes me want to read The Little Mermaid properly,
This book confirmed that all the Villain books are linked in this series. This one fell flatter than The Beast Within though.
It left me yet again wanting more depth of character and more exploration of Ursula's backstory.
Poor Unfortunate Souls could make a great TV Series though.
