A fantastic look at the life of Richard Feynman, following both his professional and personal life to some extent. Jim Ottaviani has had experience writing nonfiction, science-based comics, and Feynman is a well-researched, beautifully illustrated account.

When I was in high school, I read Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! and fell completely in love with Richard Feynman as a renaissance man, thinker, artist, and physicist. He inspired me to take AP Physics. AP Physics wasn't my thing, but I'm still fascinated by Feynman's life and work. This graphic novel biography captured Feynman's spirit in evocative illustrations and quotes drawn from Feynman's writing. I loved every minute of reading it - especially his work on the Manhattan Project and his feelings about it afterward. One of the best books I have read in 2012.

When I started reading this book, I was already in the midst of reading "The Pleasures of Finding Things Out: The Best Short Works of Richard P. Peynman". So, I already knew some of the things that was depicted in this book.

I finished this book in a day cos it was easy consumption. Thanks to its comic-strip style compared to 'The Pleasures of Finding Things Out' which is written in prose (and which I am still reading! LOL)

Lovely read, especially if you're fascinated by this man.

Quite dry and even technical take of Feynman's story. Doesn't shy away from getting down and dirty with physics, QED and of course Feynman diagrams. Overall interesting presentation of his different academic endeavors. I was not impressed with the sketches, I would have liked them to either be more detailed and/or distinct. They just got the job done.

I confess to skimming a bit, but I really enjoyed this. Some of the explanations did go over my head but I think Ottaviani's got huge skillz when it comes to making science accessible and fun through comics. And Myrick's art was just wonderful.

Anyone who knows anything about anything knows I'm a know-nothing when it comes to math and physics. This is probably the fault of the Arizona public school system. Despite this lack of knowledge I quite liked this graphic novel bio. With great illustrations and not too math heavy it reminded me a lot of Logicomix though I don't feel it was anywhere near as ambitious.

Hopefully these types of graphic novels keep getting released so there's a better chance of me becoming a know-something.

I read a comic book after a long time. I read "surely you're joking Feynman" a few years back. This books brings the other in a "play" like fashion. The caricatures are nicely done.
The 4 four stars is for the effort in bringing out the book so nicely and encouraging readers to dig more on Feynman ... It has a good list of books by and about Feynman in the end.

I gave this book to my husband for Christmas. He has not gotten around to it, but I decided it would be a good break from the other book I am reading. I was right.

Richard Feynman was a brilliant man who tried hard to make physics understandable to the average person. He won a Nobel prize for his work on QED, worked on the atomic bomb and influenced the way physics is taught all over the world.

Although Feynman himself wrote books for lay people, I believe this book may help the general population understand why this physicist is so important. The graphic format will attract readers who might not pick up Feynman's essays and autobiographies.

I still do not understand the science behind Feynman's work, but these folk got me a bit closer.

I recommend this book to readers who like the graphic format for their reading, to those who have heard about Feynman, but want to know more and to people who like reading interesting biographies.

This seems to be a graphic novel retelling of "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman," which I have already read, so I quit halfway through.
