Christie is always a quick enjoyable read when I want something breezy. I did notice, however, that half of this book is gentlemen mansplaining things to Miss Marple and the other women characters, who in turn communicate behind the men's backs. Miss Marple, of course, saves the day, despite the men's protestations that she's a blithering idiot.

I'll be the first to admit it, I'm not a Miss Marple fan. I prefer the Belgian. However, this is Agatha Christie, so naturally it's well written. I don't know, maybe I'm just jaded these days, but this one didn't float my boat like so many other of her books have. I was sort of bored by the time I finished. That does not mean I would never read another Agatha Christie, because one unliked book does not a crappy author make. It just means this will be one of my books that sits on my shelf, until one of my kids or grandkids pick it up.

Un libro poco degno di nota... Non è molto entusiasmante e la risoluzione del giallo è caotica oltre che poco convincente.

This was a really nice classic holiday read. It was pretty much a standard, enjoyable, Agatha Christie story. It's nice to read a story with an Elderly protagonist whose not a grumpy "get off my lawn" type, and who is still sharp. I did not guess the ending (sadly).

A typical village matron. Characteristic of people her age she would seem at a glance like a snoopy, gossiping old lady who is too preoccupied trying to poke her noses in others matters. Well, she's not that different from my own grandmother. Then, Agatha Christie makes her a crime fighting detective. I cant say i am biased towards her than Poirot. I love it.

Ah, Miss Marple. It's been a long time.

I really did enjoy this. It was such a quick and easy read. I loved all the characters. Especially the "relationship" between Miss Marple and Mr. Rafiel. Loved that. I also really enjoyed that this wasn't just Miss Marple sleuthing around, finding all these clues. We were giving other people's perspectives and left a little to figure out stuff on our own.
I did enjoy some of the twists, but I did guess who the murderer was pretty early on. Not Agatha's best, but a great mystery overall.
