This book was so fun and hilarious! It totally gave off “my big fat Greek wedding” meets “home alone before vacation” vibes.
The dysfunction between the two families and their bickering was hilarious, and I really enjoyedthat Ro and Enzo broke up at the wedding and had to spend some time apart and find their way back to one another again. I also really enjoyed that they were simply “side” characters to Seb and Nora’s story but they were still such an integral part of it.
I really enjoyed reading about two flawed characters who were actually just all around good people trying to do good things to make everyone else’s lives better.
And, as much asI know that this story still ended with a HEA, I really wanted them to get engaged in some super sweet way at the end of the novel.
Seriously - Seb and Nora are goals.
Read this book - you won’t be disappointed! Also, the spice is solid! 👌🏻

There was too much going on and I did not connect to the characters the way I normally would.
Maybe I will pick it up again one day.

Nora grew up rootless and family-less, except for her mom. So when her only friend needs her to be his pretend-girlfriend for a big family wedding, she steps up. The only problem? The hottie who Nora's crushing hard on is also at the wedding, and also has a pretend-date. So they agree that they will NOT let their respective friends down and will keep their hands--and feelings--off each other. But as they keep being thrown together during the week-long festivities, it gets harder and harder to keep things platonic. Will they be able to help keep their friends' secrets? Or will they let their growing attraction ruin everything?
This one was cute and flirty and was one long story of--well, longing. I liked that this was about family AND found family, and how loyal they each were to their respective friends. It was hard not to be frustrated at the lack of clear communication that got their respective friends into their respective predicaments, but I appreciated the communication being open within the circle of trust at least. This makes a great beachy read with sexy vibes.

4/5🌶️, MF, CR, romcom, fake dating - but not each other, wedding shenanigans, found family, standalone, dual narration, Libby
Fake dating is not my favourite trope, but I think I’ve found the caveat that it works for me, when the main couple are fake dating OTHER people. I loved this take on a tried and true staple of romance. The fake dating others at an already crazy feuding families Italian wedding was a fun twist and added a lot of layers of humour to the story. The other thing I appreciated in this story was that the characters were refreshingly normal. We didn’t have a billionaire or a dominate MMC or an overly quirky or overly shy FMC. Both characters were middle of the road, average people, who worked through their issues, compromised when needed but also stood up for themselves when it was warranted. There was a large cast of characters though and some of those people were over the top but that added to the fun.
The sex scenes in this book were a bit unexpected but I throughly enjoyed them (probably because the FMC was a vocal and active participant in all activities and the MMC didn’t take over). There was also more exhibition and a well done subtle breeding kink that I did not see coming. My only negative was the frequent early 00’s pop culture references, despite me being old enough to get them all, it didn’t really fit the age of the characters (late 20’s/30). But, all-in-all, a very enjoyable romcom.

Livy has truly outdone herself with this one, yall. If you’ve read anything by Livy before, you know there are some things that are just her brand – non-stop banter, hilarious hijinx and the most bonkers moments you could ever imagine, spice that will make even the most seasoned romance reader blush in public, and characters that are so relatable you forget they are fictional.
The Great Dating Fake-off is set at a big Italian wedding with feuding families at a lakeside resort in the Adirondacks. If that wasn’t enough to provide some serious drama, the two main characters are each fake dating someone else to keep their dates’ respective families off their backs. Sebastian and Nora’s chemistry is off the charts but their realities and futures are clashing – Nora doesn’t want to leave a town after spending her whole life on the road with her mom who chased men like the sunsets, and Sebastian’s job opening Boys and Girls Club chapters across the country means he’s constantly moving from town to town. Finding themselves running into each other (and alone, more than once), their attraction overrides their willpower and the feelings grow deeper than either imagined.
I absolutely inhaled this book and already know I’m going to listen to the audiobook when I’m in the mood for a romantic comedy that is overflowing with both the romance and the comedy.

gonna do a soft DNF on this and try to come back. for some reason, this book just isn't working for me and I'm finding myself a little bored.
I did have fun at some parts and others have really enjoyed it! maybe just not the right time for me

Had a lot of fun with this one. I love fake dating, but two couples fake dating and one from each ends u together is a new spin. I also really enjoyed the wedding and Ro and Enzo’s addition to the story line. The friends were great, although I could always use more sassy grandma. Nella is really what I dream of for a side character so I wish I had more of her. The love was sweet. The story had some funny. The spice was quality.
