DID NOT FINISH

DNF’ing at page 180. Every character is unlikeable and I’m not rooting for anyone I just want it to end.

This book is like 30% plot, 10% Isolde and Adrian arguing and 60% absolute filth... And I was here for it!

It picked up right where the first book left off. As with the first book, the end felt a little abrupt. Most smut heavy books bother me because I need the plot to move too but this book did a good job of moving the plot and adding tons of spice.

I did not realize there was a third book in the works but I'm glad there is! I need to know what happens after (insert characters name here) wakes up!! I need to know if Isolde learns more about her developing power. I have so many questions. And did I mention this book was spicy

wow, I just finished the book and I have so much to say. First and foremost the sequel is unfortunately a little bit less structured and compelling as the first book but I don’t think it is a bad sequel. I think the magic/witch aspects of the book need some work, sometimes it’s hard/confusing to follow bc it feels like an info dump and then we don’t revisit that information until five chapters later. the first half really dragged for me but the second half/last third of the book is really where it had me hooked. I lovedddd learning and seeing some of the powers Adrian possessed as well as others. The compulsion was sick af to see, i was literally screaming in shock. so was the guy who can freeze people still, he was cool too. I think the third book has a lot of potential to be something great.

First up, Isolde… YALL AINT TELL ME MY GOOD SIS WAS BLAAAAACK

Lots of back story. A little plot. Almost typical 2nd book of a trilogy.

DNF at 30% I’m just so annoyed and bored with these characters, this lack of plot and WOULD IT KILL YOU TO SAY “I DON’T” instead of “I DO NOT” every single time PLEASE add some contractions or it just sounds robotic.

Sigh...I wanted to like this book, but it was not giving what the first book gave. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and how the author balanced the plot & spice. The book picks up right where the first book ended, with Adrian and Isolde dealing with the aftermath of the witch Ravena's attack, and what follows is a very slow and jarring tale full of too many characters' backstories, subplots, and rushed endings. The transitions between plots and spicy scenes were so abrupt that I would have to re-read sections to make sure I wasn't missing something.

And speaking of spice, I never thought I would say this, but it was so much spice that it almost didn't make sense. They argue...spice...they mourn...spice...somebody dies...spice....weird flashback...spice. It was so much spice I had to keep reminding myself of the plot to get through the book, and the plot is VERY GOOD!

Overall, I wasn't a fan of this one as the book was not balanced enough for me. I may try to read the next one but don't hold me to it.
