Real score: God-damn it!!!!!!! Seriously. First book I gave the benefit of the doubt. With this one I just wanted to throw it and the rest of the series out the door. But now I’m not sure. There are bones that are interesting. A couple of carpals, or an ear bone or something. Do I finish. Or can I not do it? Just to go against everyone (ish)’ and at the risk of sounding like a prude - which, read my own horrendous fiction, I’m not - but I simply can’t bear how every single thing ends in a cock straddle. I’m so sorry. In my last finished book I talked about struggling to be honest on the side of dislike here, and here I am being a b-e-arch, but … just no. Still … do I finish the series … ant argument may apply.

5/5 ⭐️ 3/5

This boom was not as good as the first. The relationship was super toxic. The plot was convoluted, and it took me forever to finish. I doubt I'll be continuing.

DNF @ 46%. This is so disjointed and confusing. So much important info being mentioned offhand. A whole lot of arguing and repetitive sex scenes. I’m disappointed! I loved the second half of KBB :(

a very meh sequel. I liked the first one but this storyline just felt weak and characters a bit whiny. I think I'll move on from scarlett, sorry girl

Damn, the way I inhaled this book… I will admit the first half was a difficult ride, buuuut the last bit made it all worth it. I’m glad I stuck it out. Not all was as it seemed and our characters were dealt one devastating blow after another. I spent a lot of time questioning and quite frankly hating Adrian. While we didn’t get all the answers, we got enough of a peek behind the curtain to understand a small portion of why he’s not himself. Minor undetailed spoilers to follow:

The death of a certain close character broke me, but the betrayal of two other characters fucking demolished me, and took me completely off guard. I didn’t see the twist coming and when it happened

Okay, this book is a 2.9 stars. Almost a 3 because the actual storyline is great and I really liked and enjoyed that part. But Adrian and Isolde! Omg what a broken record their relationship was or is. Drove me nuts with the whole I love you, I hate you, I like you. Ugh. So repetitive.

Definitely liked this one better than the first. We get to know each character better. There were satisfying twists and turns (both in the storyline and the spice). I was disappointed to see that after my binge read, book 3 is not out for several more months.

Loved book one so this was a disappointment. It felt very rushed and yet somehow still boring. The relationships felt flat. The only connection Adrian and her have is sex. The rest of the time is just annoying bickering between the two. Isolde’s character got very lost between her two lives. Somehow it missed the mark. Overall the plot was very predictable. Every betrayal was seen coming by a mile away.
