I struggled with this one. It felt a bit repetitive at times in the story line and not enough plot movement until much later in the book. I'm glad I finished it, but debating if I'll read the next book.....but let's be real I probably will because I want the conclusion.

I really like the main character. She is strong and soft. She fights for what she believes in and isn't afraid to say what she thinks even Though she is plagued with guilt, inadequacy and sorrow over traumas.
That being said this book has a lot of sex scenes. And no really progress on the original questions from the 1st book but more delving into what the political situation and some hints at past history. Not terrible but now I have to wait for more story to emerge

There is no coming back from this failure of a book - just let this series die.

There is absolutely zero substance to this book. The world it is set in is not thought out or at all interesting. The existence of witches and vampires feels like a halfhearted attempt to stray away from the fey craze. None of the characters are likable or in any way admirable. In fact, I deeply hate each of the characters. Even the sex scenes are completely bad!

When I saw that I was 81% of the way through, I thought I would cry because I still had 19% to go and the thought of giving this book any more of my attention felt unbearable, even though I soldiered through it. After having read other books by the author, I feel deeply disappointed that this was brought to publish by her and her editors. I can detect no amount of love or caring or joy that was put into the making of this book.

This book was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and I loved it!

The emotions were perfectly written, and I did not see the betrayals coming (one I definitely should’ve seen!) and it just felt like a complicated set of scenarios where I cannot see what’s coming and I love it!

I really like how real the relationship between Adrian and Isolde it - yes, they are sort of fated but it’s not smooth sailing like you’d see in other books with ‘fated love’.

I absolutely love how powerful Isolde is becoming and I can’t wait to see how she conquers in the next book!

This had so much potential but  it could have used a shit ton of editing. I added a half star for the twist at the end because that was the best part.
