I loved learning through the comic what life was like for lesbians from the 80s, and it was a great insight into the community from a time where I wasn’t born yet.
It was also crazy to see political talking points get repeated by concurrent presidents and it felt like the more politics change the more they stay the same.
I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the more soap opera-y moments but overall it was a good read!

A slice of life comic from the 80’s-90’s reflecting the lesbian culture.l of the time. Really a historic read at this point. Also, this is the comic where the Bechdel Test comes from.
4.5: this was amazing i love works made by lesbians for lesbians. This kinda feels like a better and cartoon version of the movie go fish idk i just really like it. The first chapters i especally likes bc i feel like i could realte to them the most as a lesbian in my 20s. Defintally not the most pc takes on trans/nb/bi but it was interesting to see how circular discourse really is. Also i just love dykes so i was bound to love this book. I took it out from the library but i am for sure going to buy my own copy.

For the love of Dog, do not feed your dog ibuprofen for pain management, as is portrayed in this book. NSAIDs are in general deadly both to dogs and cats. I was shocked to see this in the comic.
Other than this one point, this is a five-star read. Many LOLs throughout, engaging discussions, interesting characters, and a real literary gem. Great work.
Something I really liked about this strip was the layering of jokes. Every book/magazine title, sign or notice, news report, graphic tee, etc., etc., has a joke in it. All these little jokes in the frame in addition to the main story are delightful to discover.
Other than this one point, this is a five-star read. Many LOLs throughout, engaging discussions, interesting characters, and a real literary gem. Great work.
