funny mysterious

Enjoyed this one set on the island of Cyprus especially because of the growing friendship between Agatha and Sir Charles, an entertaining addition to the cast. He makes James seem so boring.

I just saw where the author died back in December.

3.5 rounded to 4. I really enjoyed Sir Charles in this one. I ship that far more than Agatha-James. It is weird to ship characters in the Agatha Raisin series? I don't care.

This is a weak entry in this series. After Agatha's wedding is cancelled, she foolishly chases James to Cyprus to win him back no becomes involved in the murder of two British tourists. It is very melodramatic, with breaks in the action to learn about the history of the tourist spots that Agatha and her new friends visit. The history did not belong in this book and ultimately, the murders were not that interesting.

The characters didn't grab me and the tour brochures got old fast. Onto the next one

another solid entry in aggie's story! after their failed attempt at marriage, james lacey goes on their honeymoon alone and agatha soon follows. of course, murder *also* follows to cyprus and agatha is investigating again. this one was a simpler story line with less of a convoluted murder in the end. so very british, so very fun!

James can get wrecked

I am struggling with this series. I like the murder mystery parts, but I can’t get past the racist remarks and in this book, she used the R word to describe a character. Plus the constant body shaming. This book in particular didn’t seem to have as much sleuthing in it.

I'm starting to get bored of the romance subplots all over the place :/ but the mysteries are still decent
