Loved this one! I found the second one to be harder to get through but definitely worth it to get to this one!

Cassie arrives in Avalon Bay where she plans to spend the summer caching up with her friends and family, and hopefully also find herself a summer fling candidate. On her first night in town, she meets Tate, a golden boy sail instructor and lovable player.

Even though he very nicely rejects her proposition for a summer fling, he instead offers to be her wingman and help her with her mission. As the two of them spend more time together, they form a strong friendship that turns into a bit more.

I loved Tate, I think he is the best character out of this entire series. I liked Cooper and Evan, but felt like their storylines were a bit over the top, with too much drama. While this book has it’s fair share of drama and secrets, I think it’s the best book in the series. Tate was incredibly supportive of Cassie from the beginning and there was no miscommunication which I LOVED.

The relationship between Tate and Cassie reminded me a lot of Hannah and Graham, so if you liked The Deal, you will definitely like this book as well.

I am giving this book three stars instead of four because of the third act. I would have liked for them to navigate the conflict at the end a bit more differently.

Overall, a cute, steamy, enjoyable read that will take you out of a slump. I read this book over the course of two days.

Wow this book is SO GOOD. It gave me all the feels. It’s my new favorite of the Avalon Bay series. I thought Mac and Cooper and Evan and Gen were perfection - but wow! - Cassie and Tate take it to a whole other level. The book isn’t just a love story but also one about family bonds - it touches on sensitive topics and is so profound. Cassie and Tate’s kind of love just shines and causes serious envy. & the window scene (Ch. 15) and boat scene (Ch. 22)

Beach read perfection. This entire series is absolutely perfect for carting to the beach if you want (mostly) dishy fun. Kennedy does try to sneak some contemporary themes in here and while I wasn't overly thrilled with the conflict (okay, so I did roll my eyes, but it didn't completely impede my enjoyment of the book), it held my interest throughout. I liked these characters more than the other two novels in the series, actually. Cassie and Tate were both both strong leads and I liked both of them. The twins/literary storyline was a bonus. And the turtle! Cute and funny. One of those books you can check out, lose yourself in the drama, and just enjoy.

I finally got around to reading this book! I wasn't sure what to expect, as I have not read the first two books, but I should have expected this book to be smutty like my girl Elle Kennedy. Did I absolutely love it? No. Would I buy these books? No. Would I go to the library and rent the first an second books? Yes. I would say this book is the smutty sister of to "the Summer I Turned Pretty" series if you need encouragement to read this book.
