The Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy was such a fun read. It’s the perfect kind of book to pick up while you’re lounging by the pool on a hot summer day.
I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read by Elle Kennedy and I must admit that this is actually the first book I’ve read from the Avalon Bay series… whoops! This is actually book #3 in the series, but it can totally be read as a standalone.
Cassie and Tate’s story begins when Cassie arrives at Avalon Bay and decides she wants a summer fling. Tate is the perfect candidate as he is known for never being in a serious relationship. When Cassie proposes this to Tate, he agrees, but Tate soon realizes that Cassie is not fling material she is serious material and so he decides to friend-zone her.
I absolutely LOVED Cassie and Tate’s story. It was nice to see their relationship grow from acquaintances to friends to falling in love with each other. Their chemistry was great and they had so many adorable moments that made me all giddy and warm and fuzzy while reading.
I recommend you pick this one up. There’s flirtation, friendship, romance, steaminess, and a sprinkle of drama towards the end that’ll make you want to continue reading to find out how their story unfolds.
*A huge thanks to Elle Kennedy, NetGalley, and St Martin’s Press for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*

Another fun, steamy return to Avalon Bay. Elle Kennedy is such a great author of summer romances.

This is my favorite book of the series. Cassie and Tate have an amazing chemistry and banter, which was no surprise as this is an Elle Kennedy book, but what made it stand out for me compared to my beloved Hartley brothers books is how FUN it was. Not that the previous two books were dark or heavy, but the Hartley brothers had a lot more baggage to deal with, whereas Tate’s family was so wholesome, and while Cassie had issues with her parents, her father’s family was adorable and I loved the twins, which made (most of) the scenes that had nothing to do with the couple fun to read too. I giggled a lot while reading this, and swooned and yes, I may have also shed a tear at the end.

This book is the third installment of the Avalon Bay series. Cassie has returned to Avalon Bay for the summer to stay with her grandmother, and befriends Tate, who is staying next door. Cassie is hoping to find a summer fling, and at first, Tate is only interested in being her friend. However, before long, their attraction is too strong to deny. Will this friends to lovers romance be able to make it past the summer?
I have read this entire series, and this book was by far my favorite. Both Tate and Cassie are likable characters who are easy to root for. I enjoyed Cassie’s relationship with her grandmother and the development with her father and stepmother was great. I didn’t see the family drama near the end coming- it was a good side plot addition that created conflict in a surprising and unique way. I’d definitely recommend this book to rom com lovers, especially if you enjoy small beach town vibes, friends to lovers, and some spice!
Thank you to Elle Kennedy, St. Martin’s Griffin, and Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Definitely my favorite book from this series! Shy innocent girl andgolden boy is the best trope ever! And there's nothing better than a steamy summer love.
From the first chapter, I knew this book would be a 5⭐️ read. I honestly fell in love with Cassie, she is such a lovable character, and seeing her growth through this book was extraordinary. The ending brought me to tears. Basically the best kind of emotional roller coaster!
I felt so many emotions! The smut was sensational, honestly, no one writes a steamy scene like Elle Kennedy. The chemistry between Cassie and Tate was unquestionable, and the fact that I listened to this as an audiobook was perfect.
This book it's not only a swoony romance but its also about healing. About a girl finding herself and falling in love, while overcoming her insecurities.
I just loved that from the start there was so much fire between Cassie and Tate! And then Tate friendzones our girl, so she wouldn't catch feelings but guess who's the one that falls first? HIM! (honestly, best trope ever!). From there we got some crazy twists and turns that made me speed-read (listen?) to this book to find out what was going to happen and boy was I surprised.
Please, please, please read this book. That's all I can say right now. I just can't stop thinking about this couple! One of my favorite books of the year.

This one is definetly the funniest in the series. I also preffered the characters. I really liked Alana being not bitchy about it. The mom is horrific. It was almost a five star, but the last conflict was a little weird in my opinion. I'm glad the solution was quick. Cassie and Tate are both my fave leads. Just a sweet couple. Love the turtle guy and Zale. The twins are still asholey and the difference between them and Tate showed. Making me love Tate even more. What a stable childhood can do.
