The third book in this Avalon Bay series, and possibly my favorite.
Follows Tate (one of the twin’s friends) and Cassie as they try to have a summer fling that turns into more.
Loved the angst, the character growth and the twist at the end.

Best book of the series so far! Great rom-com!
Can playboy Tate, the towny lerhari, who does any girl not nailed down. Settle down long enough to have a summer fling with Cassie exclusively? She's got some V-card baggage she's trying to offload, and she thinks Tate is the perfect man for the job.
This book is low angst but does have some precarious moments.
They have trials and adventures and eventually find their HEA.
The book is slow burn and not spicy until the middle, and then they get it on like bunnys. I docked a

Cassie is spending her college summer break with her grandmother. She’s also on a mission to find a no-strings summer fling, which is where popular golden boy Tate comes in.
This was pretty light for the most part as Cassie and Tate figured things out and she navigated communication issues in her tense blended family. It was pretty slow-moving for me but picked up abruptly at the end. It was very mild in terms of spice. But it’s a sweet summery read, if a bit tame. And surprisingly funny!

“Every part of me is yours.”
Elle Kennedy strikes gold once again with her scorching, small town, new adult romance, "The Summer Girl." Whether you're diving into the series or starting fresh, this standalone novel is a must-read. Follow Cassie's journey as she returns to Avalon Bay, seeking refuge from her critical mother and craving a summer fling. Enter Tate, the irresistible playboy and sailing instructor who becomes her unexpected wingman.Yet, as fate would have it, the magnetic pull between them becomes too strong to resist. Prepare for some fireworks.
This story will have you laughing, blushing, and reminiscing about those youthful nights of sneaking into someone’s room. The chemistry between Cassie and Tate is electric, and their love story will leave you breathless.
I was swept away by the idyllic setting, the steamy chemistry between Cassie and Tate, and the heartwarming moments that made me me feel like I’m in university again. With a palpable sexual tension and a captivating small-town romance, "The Summer Girl" is a book you’ll want to add to your beach reads.
If you've read the previous books, you'll be thrilled to catch up with Tate's friends in some fun scenes that add an extra layer of enjoyment. But don't worry, if you're new to the series, you won't be confused!
If you like audiobooks, then you’ll definitely enjoy this one narrated by the mesmerizing voices of Teddy Hamilton and Caitlin Elizabeth. They made this passionate romance even more delightful (and be prepared to put your volume on low).

This feels like a typical Elle Kennedy romance but without toxic leads. It’s good if a little bland. I just needed something to listen to while playing cod mobile.
I love Tate and Cassie, but I didn't care for the family drama. I had some pretty serious eye rolling going on at the 3rd act break-up - I get it, but hated it. I also felt like it almost came so late that the ending was so rushed.
this was soooooo cute. i love tate. i love cass. i love player x sweet girl trope. i love friends to lovers trope. i love summer fling to relationship trope. i love HE falls first(ish) trope. i love players who arent assholes. i love beans with complicated emotions. i love no unnecessary drama or toxicity. i love reading summer books while i'm freezing my ass off.
its not 5 stars bc it's still "just" very easy light entertainment, kinda not a lot happens for such a long book and also i hate to say it but the vibe with the characters/friend group from the last books isnt really there? its very insular despite the various name dropping but idk it didnt feel as connected as for example in her off campus one which sucks bc found family/friend group dynamics are my fave

This was my favorite book in the Avalon Bay series so far! It can be read as a stand alone. It's a great summer read, and I felt transported to life in Avalon Bay. I enjoyed the history tied in as well with the Beacon Hotel. I thought the character development was very strong in this book - it didn't feel rushed or too slow. Overall definitely one I'd recommend!
