I did enjoy Tate’s character arch through this series from a playboy to being so obsessed with Cassie. But I just think this series isn’t for me, it was just okay.
Graphic: Sexual content, Toxic relationship
Moderate: Body shaming, Gaslighting

4 star!
i liked this book. probably the most in this series. i liked both main characters, their struggles were real and also believable, and i enjoyed myself while reading this!

Cassie was a well rounded character. The first thing I noticed was that while she had her insecurities, they were done in a way that didn’t make her seem annoying. I could understand her desire to avoid confrontation, because I’m the same way. She tried to find the bright side of things, but she also learned to be assertive and stand up for herself.
Tate always struck me as a good guy. He was friendly and seemed to take everything in stride, not to mention he had a sense of humor. He was considerate of others. Because of that, he tended to give out mixed signals, but I could tell he meant well. He didn’t want to take advantage of Cassie’s inexperience. I could see their chemistry between these two. They confided in each other, hyped each other up. And they had good banter.
The book was slow to start, but once things picked up, the pacing was realistic and well done, especially when it came to Tate and his feelings towards Cassie. There were several funny parts here and there that got a chuckle out of me, but the author was not afraid to tackle some serious issues as well. Overall, this book was probably my favorite in the series.
TW: brief mention of dementia, depiction of narcissistic behavior, verbal abuse, brief mention of miscarriage, past cheating (neither main character)
