I liked the first half better than the second half. Good lead up, did not like the conflict at the last moment

3.4⭐️

Honestly, it took a bit to get into. While I generally liked the story and the town, this one was a bit harder for me to really attach to than the previous two. I just wasn’t the kind of invested I want to be. I did like Tate though.

Charming, happy, really made me wish I could summer in a beach town and not work.

Trying to remember this is new adult. Overall it was a fine book. The plot, again, paper thin. And it took FOREVER to get to any romance or spice. I think Elle Kennedy is worth reading but not my favorite series by her.

Did I read this book in one day? Yes, yes I did. Tate is what dreams are made of. Not as spicy as some of her other books, but this was a lovely summer read. As with all of Elle Kennedy's books, it just has that something that reels you in. Oh and I totally fangirled at the Briar/Hastings references.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

i haven’t been a huge fan of the Avalon Bay series but i always love Elle’s writing so i wanted to finish it!

this one was by far my favorite of the 3! i’m a sucker for a virgin MFC and playboy MMC.

the plot twist in this one was a good one, didn’t see that coming. although the tie up seemed very fast paced for there to have been such a HUGE secret revealed.

This was a slight twist on the standard “modern romance” plot format.

While I liked that it mixed up the tropes, and there was actually clear communication between FMC & MMC, the book overall was quite a bit longer than I felt like it needed to be.

On the flip side of that, I did like that the MCs were fleshed out people that did much more than gaze longingly at each other and get physical.

I did not realize this was part of a series until I’d finished the book. I don’t feel like I missed anything starting here.

Overall, I’d say it comes out to be about the standard as far as ratings go. I’m not mad I spent time with it, but I probably won’t ever think about it again.

3.25⭐️ my fav in the Avalon Bay series. Zoomed through this! I enjoyed the first half a lot more than the 2nd. Related to Cassie on many levels

The BEST of the Avalon Bay books by far :)

Everytime I read Elle Kennedy, I am reminded why I will read every single new book she releases... (and probably why I have re-read so many of her others) -- writing is just wonderful!!!

No spoilers to give other than to say: the perfect summer Romance!

Cassie is on break from college staying at her grandmother’s house in Avalon Bay and looking for a summer fling and the chance to finally lose her V-card. Never one to get too serious about any girl, Tate doesn’t want to break a virgin’s heart, so he valiantly offers to be her wingman and help her find her summer fling. You can guess how that arrangement went. The chemistry between Cassie and Tate is off the charts in this cute and spicy romcom. I especially liked watching Cassie grow up and deal with her issues with her bitch of a mother, finally standing up for herself. This was an excellent beach read and I look forward to reading more from Elle Kennedy.

Thank you @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the advanced copy of this book.
