Read for work.
I read this based on a recommendation from my brother who, in general, reads no books, so I felt I had an obligation to read it despite my hesitation. The writing is so bad, and the editing atrocious, so that it detracts from the valuable message behind it. I do agree with the author that a positive attitude makes a huge difference in life, both in the workplace and at home. As a matter of fact, for my high school English class, we had an essay assigned for "what is the worst problem facing the U.S. today?" and I wrote mine all about negative attitude being the worst problem. It ended up being published in the local paper after my dad sent my essay in as a letter to the editor. My 10th grade self wrote a better piece on how/why to be positive than Jon Gordon.
I will tell my brother that this was better than it was. I'm glad he enjoyed it and has found it useful in his life and I don't want to discourage him from reading and recommending books to me in the future!

I feel like I should preface this by saying that I am not a fan of "self help" books. They mostly make me gag and this one was no exception.
I think personifying 'joy' was cute and the bus analogy was thoughtful. The dialogue was so terrible, though. Mega corny! And basically spouted the same bullcrap all other business self help books are saying.

I liked the message in this book, but the writing style and story was a little hokey/corny. The ten principles were good, and it was an easy read.

Decent book, not amazing, not terrible. Nothing groundbreaking.
