Definitely better than the first, more intriguing and although not 100% correct in its factual/historical basis, the true definition of a page-turner. Splendid job.

I really was intrigued by this book until I started doing a little research myself on some of these paintings. Brown wrote in a style that made me think he had done extensive research, but it looks more like he took an extremely fanciful look at half-truths. Even his descriptions of the paintings were extremely exagerated, implying meanings that are not evident by looking at them. He seems more like a man with an agenda than a fun story to tell.

Honestly, could have been a 5 if I didn’t have book one to compare it to. 

I think reading this slowly made the pacing feel off and I felt it all wrapped up a little too quickly. I wanted more time at the end watching it all come together.

But, another exquisite escape room in a book style experience. I loved that there was more chance for us to solve the puzzles with them.
