I typically do not ever read books of this genre. Not necessarily because I’m not interested, I just have zero patience to find out an ending and always skip to the end to figure it out. But this was a book club choice so I had to read and I made sure to read it from the beginning to the end without peaking!

This book had me interested from the very beginning. I found this book to be very relatable (obviously on a much less extreme scale). This book did a great job at capturing what it’s like to fall in love for the very first time especially in high school and how crazy it can make you, especially when the romance ends and you’re stuck seeing your partner move on before you’re ready!

Although I wish this book had a much happier ending, I’m very glad I read it. The thrill of following along the tragedy of Angela’s life and mental illness kept me on my toes for many hours. The book was predictable in the sense that I could tell what the ending was going to be - but I was very much able to be caught up in Angela’s point of view and surprised at the end when it all came together!

In a month of, so far, cosy Christmas reads, Our Little Secret was just the psychological thriller that I needed.

We meet Angela in a police interrogation room, being questioned about the disappearance of someone called Saskia. The story of who Saskia is and what has really happened to her unfolds through Angela giving her statement to the police.

This one is a slow burn, but one that I was hooked by instantly and I found myself completely unable to work out how the story was going to end, which I loved! And oh wow that ending gave me actual goosebumps......

I love a good unreliable narrator. Quick, engaging read from the start. I wish it had ended a little differently, but still really enjoyed this!

After enjoying Roz Nay's book Hurry Home and then The Hunted last year, I've been meaning to read this book since I picked it up in a used bookstore in August 2020. Oops!! I could even tell that it wasn't super long and would probably be highly engaging...and it just didn't happen. Then one night right after new years, my eyes passed over the book when I was feeling supremely bored/unsettled/locked down and low and behold THIS BOOK UTTERLY CONSUMED ME for the next...2 hours and then another 2 in the morning after sleeping for 8 hours. So yes, it was good. The way it was written was incredibly unique. It read a bit like a YA romance at times as well as a thriller at other times. It was definitely a bit of a coming of age story. A likable character turned a bit unlikable for me...or actually, rather, this happened with 2 characters.

I don't want to say too too much about what this is about because I think it's best to go in without any spoilers, but I will say that this book was exactly what I needed to reignite that reading bug, and I highly recommend it if you're feeling the same way - or even if you're not! It is well worth the time.

Well hot damn!! That was fun!!

You can’t see me but I’m bowing to Roz Nay. I have never read a mystery like that in all my days and I want to read a million more. Seriously, the way this story is laid out is so unique!

The book starts and we know someone is missing. Enter main character, Angela, at the beginning of a full on police interrogation. Sounds like something we’ve read a million times yes? But then!!...

Angela starts playing this wicked cat and mouse game with the detective and we get to see an entire history unfold. Angela takes us back to the beginning and we buy into her teenage love story and angsty young adult romance, and grip onto her heartbreak as her world comes crashing down around her. What we thought we knew of characters turns out to all be a sham and our loyalties are tested.

All this while leading up to a phenomenal finale that will have you questioning what the bejeezus just happened! And the crazy thing is?? I don’t actually know the truth and I don’t care. THIS BOOK WAS GREAT!! What a trip!!

3.5 Stars. This story was interesting...I don’t know that it was much of a thriller, or psychological thriller. It had a bit of suspense to it (what happened? And who did it?) but I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. It was ok for me.

Raamat oli iseenesest väga põnev, kuid kippus venima, samas loo lahendususest oleks oodanud rohkemat. Siiski väga kvaliteetne ajaviide!
