very good story, kept me guessing. i disliked the female cop lady. she was not a girls girl at all, and i did not enjoy all her self pity.

Oh this book. I don't even know how I feel about it. I 'think' I liked it, but I don't know. I understand that statement doesn't even make sense but it is the only way I can describe it. The story itself was good. But the writing? I feel like it was almost TOO full of details. Too much filler content. Too much medical jargon. I felt like I kept reading, and reading, and reading, and reading, and truly not getting any further in the book. It usually takes me 2 days to complete a book, and this book took 2 days for me to get to 30% even though I was reading at my normal speed and as much as I usually do.. The story was good, the writing was.... different.

Tess Gerritsen knows how to write a thriller! I had such a blast reading this book and slotting the pieces together to decipher who the Surgeon was and his origins and connections to the other serial killer. & I must say, that I was extremely successful (I feel like a detective for coming to the conclusions I did, before the characters)

Gerritsen’s writing is pretty and intricate, if it can be described as such. It has a way of sucking you in. Which means that I devoured this book in no time at all.

My only complaint is that There wasn’t enough Rizzoli and certainly no Isles here. I kept waiting for Maura to appear and kept being disappointed. Hopefully this doesn’t persist in book two.

Didn't like the style of writing, too much medical terminology
