It wasn't that it was bad it was just very much not what I had expected or wanted. I just wasn't that entertained because of this which just made it hard to stay motivated to read this book even though it's pretty short.
It kind of advertised itself as a supernatural stranger things type of ghost story, but it was not this at all. There was not any point in this book where I believed there was any kind of magical entity.
Great (sad) ending though. Poor Uncle C. It's just that a large portion of the actual interesting plot of the book (Uncle C's plot) was pretty much just foreshadowing. Always like "if I had known back then" but then the actual finding out bit is only like the last 15 pages. It was pretty great how everything tied together though and I did really enjoy those 15 pages, but I wish there was some more you know?
A little slow for me due to my own expectations, but if you go into this expecting a somewhat sad coming of age story then I think you might have a better experience and end up loving this one.

Truthfully - I didn't ever know where this book was going, but it summed up quite well. I liked the voice of the main character & the writing overall. I feel like this book could have been longer & a little more developed to be a 5 star read. Did have my jaw dropping there at the end but but still kinda underwhelmed.
