Eh, nothing new here, but it never hurts to read a reminder.

I'm a big fan of Michael Pollan. I have been ever since I finished An Omnivore's Dilemma (which I recommend to just about everyone). I enjoyed this short read because it felt like his other works. It included a lot of great tidbits of information and advise to support his stance on eating and the typical Western diet.
"Eat food. Mostly plants. Not too much."

This small book isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be; however, the opening essay-like introduction gives it its greatest value. Enjoyable. The "rules" that follow are sensible and clever, but brief. A good little reference book and would appeal also to those who like daily reminders.

A great reminder of all the simple guidelines that should guide our eating habits. Let's see how they work in practice...
challenging informative fast-paced

This is a book that equates slimness to health multiple times. It claims you don't have to follow all of the rules, encourages you to follow 1 rule from each section, and shames you multiple times for not following them all. It contains outdated and somewhat unsupported health advice, particularly in the section encouraging the consumption of alcohol. (The evidence of wine being good for you is generally considered weak.)
If you are a middle class or more privileged person with access to local markets and the ability to grow your own foods you might find this SURFACE LEVEL KNOWLEDGE helpful. If you are someone who does not have access to local markets or a climate where you can grow various fruits and veggies you will find this information basically useless.
I will give it that it is a quick read and if you are someone who can use the rules you will find them easy to comprehend.

This book was extremely short. You could very easily read it on a bus or short commute. I thought it was a good set of rules from which you should follow when reading, and although some of the rules are redundant and ultimately didn't include any profound revelations, I still thought the book was a worthwhile read. Its a nice reminder that just because you can eat something doesn't mean that it is food, and that just because something is plentiful and healthy doesn't mean you should eat as much of it as you can.

I'm such a Michael Pollan fan. This short little book won't teach you anything groundbreaking but it does give you concise, easy to digest advice for eating - the sort of pithy little statements that I suspect will pop into my head frequently in the future. I'd recommend everyone read this. It's so short it won't take much of your time.

As simple as advertised. A quick reminder to "eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

A really simple and easy read. Each page or two has a different "rule" which will help people be more conscious and healthy with their food and lives. Everything is explained in good detail but simple enough for anyone to understand and for anyone to realize why the rules were thought up.
