Got a little preachy in the middle and philosophical about the concept of fire in a way that felt maybe a bit unneeded for the larger themes of the book. Otherwise interesting and informative, but note that it's more broadly about climate changed induced wildfire than about one specific fire

Well-written, with some chilling sections about the faulty economic reasoning behind bitumen extraction and the way PM Carney used to speak out about climate change’s risks to economics. (Wonder where that guy went.) I don’t love the action-hero depictions of the guys who snuck into evacuation areas for their fucking motorcycles but it doesn’t surprise me.
