Ughhhhhhhhhh, I can’t believe it’s taken me until now to read this book completely. Like many others I’m sure, I had to read this book in high school. I really don’t like being told what to do, so I purposely refused to enjoy it and never even read the book in its entirety (spark notes helped a sista out). Well, I’ve finally atoned for the mortal sin of not reading this classic book. I loved it. I just...I can’t even form into words how much I loved this book. I really needed something to take my mind off the crap that’s been happening recently, and this book filled me with so much joy and happiness.

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
I can see why so many people like this book, unfortunately I have to give it three stars. I’m beginning to realize that I should probably give up on reading classics since all the ones I’ve read so far I haven’t given more than three stars. I don’t like the way classics are written, I prefer modern books a lot more in that regard. I find the language of classics hard to follow and it was the same with this book. I barely understand what was happening in the story because the writing was so strange and all the names didn’t make it better. But I have to say that this is by far the best classic I’ve read even though I only gave it three stars.
