I loved this book, it captured me from the first page. I tried reading slowly to savior it but it only lasted so long. I even took a break to re-listen to Ex and Meridian but alas I finished this book and now feel lost. I loved Grace and Mirage and their story. I cannot wait to see what comes next for these men!

This is an interesting premise. I had read Ex and Meredian’s story a while ago so I didn’t remember it. Might have to go back and re-read. And it appears there’s a connection to another pair of assassins in the book in another series. So I’ll be checking that out too.
This is an interesting premise. I don’t know whether to term this fantasy or sci fi but the whole enhanced human being makes me chuckle to think about how awe we were by The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman!😁
There are parts of the book that drag and other stuff that seems extraneous. There are also parts that really could have used more extrapolation. Better editing might have solved this though this is not generally an issue with Via’s books so I’m not sure what the issue was here.
I am looking forward to the next book and the continuation of this story.

I have been anticipating this since reading the valentines novella and oh boy did it not disappoint. Mirage and Grace were awesome together the way they knew what the other was thinking without talking . It was made even better when Ex and Meridian appeared and I can’t wait for the Green Ravens book .

Mirage
Struggling with his grief from the loss of his beloved parents and anger over the unfairness of life, Matthew finds himself in limbo, teetering between life and death. His body is here and healthy but his mind is dying …. with everything he has ever loved ripped away from him brutally, he no longer believes in an institution he spent his life dedicated too. All that he has ever known is now tarnished with the same political and bureaucratic absurdity that took his parents.
It’s time for a change….
Recognised as an intellectual genius he is recruited by the Raven’s, an organisation who promise to take away his pain in exchange for abilities beyond what others can conceive, a chance to numb all that plagues his mind, a chance to make a difference, a chance to be free and that chance leads him too Grace, the love of his life.
Grace
Stoic and silent, He doesn’t need words to communicate his eyes covey what he’s thinking clearly. A marksman with skill that rivals all who came before him, Grace is lethal and precise. The process he endured to become the fearsome assassin he is today turned off all his emotions, A Brown Raven is to be focused with a singular goal in mind ‘follow orders’ but Grace is no longer content in his daily life, touch becomes wanted, desires flare to the surface, need to own that beautiful man becomes too much to ignore and a man like Mirage was not made to be ignored.
Ex and Meridian are a big part of the Brown Raven’s story and I am absolutely thankful for that! This story allows a look into the operations inner workings and what happened behind the scenes to make such a flawless team carry out their missions without failure, this is something that a reader was not made aware of in the Blacks story, this immerses you into their world fully. You also get to see a more playful side to Ex and Meridian when they interact with the Browns, bantering with worthy adversaries that have been trained the same, they are brothers in arms.
You have a peak inside their relationship some time after their story in Nothing Special Ex & Meridian. Anybody who is a fan of Ex & Meridian will love this book.
The scream I skrumpt when cameo’s were made by the infamous Lion and Omega and the mentions of Alpha. As a long time fan of A.E. Via’s this was so exciting for me too read, the Blue Moon saga is one of my all time favourites and they are not carried of through the other series, so to see the characters appear in this story was incredibly exhilarating.
I haven't read a book this intense and action-packed since my last A. E. Via read. No one else writes tough, badass fighters like she does, and I'm already 1000% invested in seeing this new series through to its end. As Mirage and Grace dragged me into their world of supercharged assassins fighting against deadly threats, I was completely hooked and unable to tear myself away until I reached the end of their story. I thought the beginning of the book set the stage well for each MC by sharing just enough of their backstories to explain why they were willing to leave their former lives behind and transform themselves into unstoppable fighting machines. It was fascinating to see the effects of the serum on Mirage and Grace, and I was thrilled that I got to see their first training sessions together before skipping ahead years later after the two of them were established Ravens. My brain can barely imagine how perfectly in sync the two of them were all the time, and every time they displayed their skills I was in awe of what they could accomplish together. I thought the main storyline of this book would revolve around Grace and Mirage realizing their attraction to each other, and while that was definitely one of the big focuses there was also a surprise mission-gone-wrong/corruption plotline that turned everything I thought I knew on its head.
On the personal front, I reveled in the slow buildup of tension between Grace and Mirage, and when the two of them finally clashed together their chemistry was as epic as you'd expect from two people who had a near constant mind-meld. For a book that had almost no steam in the first half, the second half was a no-holds-barred celebration of Mirage and Grace's physical connection that left me overloaded from stimuli. Grace and Mirage's fervor was only matched by the increasingly higher stakes of their assignments, and I never got tired of seeing the way they handled themselves during a mission. I think my confidence in their skills was what made me so surprised to see things veer sideways on what should have been a standard mission, and the reveals that day not only made Mirage and Grace question the organization who'd given them their new life, it also brought Ex and Meridan back into the forefront again. It was so cool to see all four of them team up for training and sleuthing, and while I'm determined not to spoil any of the surprises, let's just say that the Ravens have a brand new mission that has me even more excited than seeing them take out government sanctioned criminals. Between the steamy as heck romance and the high-stakes action sequences, I couldn't be happier with the content and pacing in this book. Grace and Mirage were terrifying yet likable men, and I believe wholeheartedly that they're going to pursue justice and root out corruption using whatever methods they deem necessary.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
