Loved this espionage tale, and can't wait for the Netflix series. Just wish this had been a longer book, with more world building.

Quite a classic novel, and it wold have been brilliant in it's time. Today it holds up well enough with a sense of urgency and intrigue, although if you are not into mysteries or espionage, I wouldn't recommend.

Great little book. I bought it used for 25 cents, read it last night and this afternoon.
I love the quick pace, suspense about the main character, Hannay, surviving for a few weeks until June 15th to save a foreign prime minister. Sadly, the minister is killed a day early, and the secrets the Germans are after are taken. But, the three spies involved are found out by Hannay, and are captured right at the end.
Beautiful descriptions of the scenery in Scotland, cool disguises to imagine, lots of fun to read. I like Buchan's style of describing things, both in the landscape and in the disguises.
Happened to find the movie at the library, plan to watch it and see how things translate. Nice weekend plan.

Short but not that sweet. I dunno, I think perhaps I'm just not a spy novel gal. The formula seems to be a) describe current setting, b) describe token character from that setting, c) enemy closes in so we run off to the next setting - AND REPEAT. Just wasn't that exciting and the conclusion didn't pay off for me.
