Taylor, West, And Disasters

Reader’s Notes:

– This book is part of a series but the other books don’t need to be read to understand this one (though it is definitely more enjoyable if you do)

– There is one use of each of these: “douche” & “jackholes”

– West takes his clothes off at one point in front of Taylor and she covers her eyes when he starts taking off his pants (turns out he was changing in to pjs- he was also under the influence of painkillers due to an injury at the time)

– This is from both Taylor and West’s (Weston) points of view

Review:

Best friends to more is the best! I love that friends who are so close can know so much about one another just because of the time they spend together. Not everything learned about a friend is told by the friend, it’s just noticed/observed and filed away for future reference.

In this case, Taylor and West have been friends since childhood, so they’ve seen each other’s awkward stages, most embarrassing moments, and lowest points.

At the beginning of this story, West is there for one of Taylor’s lowest points: when she finds out that the guy she was dating (and thought was the one) was cheating on her. West decides to help Taylor complete her original plan of 12 dates in order to get her mind off the cheater. And maybe get her mind focused on him instead as a potential boyfriend in the process. Because he’s liked her since they were kids, and he knows that at one point she also liked him. Now he just needs to know if she still holds onto those feelings.

Unfortunately, one by one, each date flops in some way. Then add in that West’s mom is determined to have him matched with someone (even if it’s not her top choice of Taylor) and creates a version of his own Bachelor show for their combined family Christmas Eve party. Which causes Taylor some confusion and hurt when she hears about it from her mother.

Will he be able to let Taylor know how he feels? Will she accept him after everything that has happened?

(And that epilogue…so awesome to see what West had been hinting about all book! Best friend for the win!)

BRIEF SYNOPSIS: When Taylor tries to do something fun and festive for her boyfriend, she ends up catching him cheating on her. To comfort her, her best friend Weston decides that the two of them should complete her list of twelve Holidates together. But Weston has and ulterior motive: he’s going to use the twelve Holidates to finally reveal to Taylor how he truly feels about her.

This was such a cute cute novella. I have so enjoyed this series from Emma St. Clair and this one didn’t disappoint. The dates were so cute and I loved seeing how much effort Weston put into them. Since this is a novella, it’s fast paced and I enjoyed that. I also loved getting to see Chase in this story and can’t wait to read his and Harper’s story. And revisit the Graham brothers.

This book was absolutely adorable. Friends to lovers and mutual pining ... I'm in love. I adore friends to lovers romance. There’s just something so special about the Intimacy of two people who already have a special connection but would like to take it to the next level. Taylor and Weston’s love story was delightfully witty, oozing with charm, swoon, and electrifying chemistry.

Even for a novella, this was a well rounded story and had enough depth to hook me in. I loved the premise of the story so much. Taylor and Weston have been secretly pining for each other for years. I found their secret love for each other so sweet...I couldn't get enough of it. The Twelve Holidates was one of those low drama, highly entertaining contemporary romances that made my heart happy. I could have read 100 more pages about Taylor and Weston.

I really loved this story, the engaging writing, and the loveable characters. A perfect quick, short read which left me smiling. I will definitely be going back to read the rest of this series!
