I’m not sure how to rate this book. I loved the story, I loved the way it was written, I loved how his writing is great for someone with ADHD. However he used to N word in a derogatory way (vs. having an evil character say it). The main character says it and really for no reason.

I knew what the ending would be before I read the book, but even though I knew the facts, the final chapter still filled me with mounting dread. The ending left me bleak and empty-- which is what Hemingway intended. I think this speaks a lot to his craft. Even if you know the story and it's ending, it's worth the read. I don't think you can truly feel the weight until you get through it beginning to end.
