5 stars!!! 97% This book was amazing. I think this book may have been the goriest, nastiest, scariest book I’ve read, BUT it was beyond entertaining. You know when Stephen King says it’s really scary, then it will be super scary. You really start to feel for the characters and the fact that the story is somewhat realistic is also terrifying. We the readers know that the military is just watching the island knowing they can’t do anything.

Boy Scout troop goes to island, bioengineered Tape worm begins to spread on island. Think lord of the flies on sterorids. Really unique. Really great.

This was a fun one, in like that horrific body horror kind of way. A mysterious stranger shows up a small scout troop retreat and shit goes down. Gross shit. Im a sucker for body horror, and spooky scifi so this got me hooked. Some have compared this to Lord Of The Flies and I will strongly disagree. Where Lord of The Flies was an exploration of individuality and law/order, The Troop is just pure pulpy horror goodness.

the amount of body horror in this actually made me realize that i hate body horror. good book tho!

My first book by Nick Cutter and it did not disappoint.

Deeply disturbing and unnerving, but I couldn’t stop reading.

This will live rent free in my nightmares. Mr. Cutter this was truly terrifying. Who hurt you sir?

This was a solid 3 star read, the story is about 5 boys and their scoutmaster Tim who happen to encounter a sick man carrying an "illness", the story unfolds from there. It has all the right elements, the big bad, possibly more than one, boys stuck on an island, survival, psychological and emotional conflict.

It has all right elements but still misses the mark for the simple reason is that these characters aren't that likable, you don't like them until the very end and that only applies to two, maybe three of them which makes this novel more gorey than scary.

I expected to be horrified to my core, I expected psychological terror and got nothing, I think this would work great in a movie, just not in a book.

The writing style is easy to follow, I finished it in a day and although it did not cut it, I will be keeping an eye on Cutter's other works.

I’ve heard this book was wild, I figured I couldn’t possibly be disturbed by a book. Wwrroonngggg! Jesus this book was intense and grotesque. I’d say 10/10 recommend but at your own risk.
