One of the worst books I have ever read. I am genuinely astonished that anyone could claim to have enjoyed this.

absolutely horrific, I will never look at worms the same again
I've read 2 horror books that actually scared me:
The Shining and now, The Troop.
The Troop slowly infects your mind, seeps into the shadows of your mind and lurks just beyond your peripheral vision.
One minute, you're happily reading along and before you know it, a grimace appears on your face as you continue to read but instinctively move the book further and further away from you.
My lab mate recommended this book, and I'm happy to detail in my final report on this experiment that:
1 - This book DELIVERED everything it promised.
2 - I work in a lab, but not Dr. Edgerton's lab (thank God)

Too gross, too much detailed body horror, too much animal cruelty. I liked the story and wanted to see where it went, but when I realized I was only 2/3 of the way through I had to stop.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Body horror, Self harm, Terminal illness

holy shit!!!
This was so viscerally creepy and the narrator did an unbelievable job, big Lord of the Flies vibes. Big no for me on the animal abuse though, could actually feel my skin crawling during those scenes. But also can’t believe there wasn’t any cannibalism??
