I loved this book so much! All of the Indian family dynamics were so great. Parts were laugh out loud funny. Another author I'll be reading again.

This was cute and laugh out loud funny. I loved the quirky characters. It's great Daisy has such a big family. I love dreading about them. The chemistry between Daisy and Liam was great. I really enjoyed this book

pre-read: The only reason i’m reading this is bc i loved The Marriage Game….. a venture capitalist AND “he broke my heart ten years ago” is going to be a hard pass under any other circumstances

update, page 48: So far there’s been a captain america sleep shirt, an avengers mug, a general marvel tote bag, and a “limited edition” captain marvel watch. Oh, and she describes herself as a manic pixie dream girl. So needless to say i’m having a great time 🙄

update, page 51: THERE’S ANOTHER MARVEL TOTE BAG this might be one of my last straws

dnf @ p. 51: reader, it was my last straw. I was so irritated that I wasted my time with this terrible book that I went and decluttered my mom's shelves. reader, I cleared out two.

Tropes : fake dating
brother's best friend (sort of?)

This book revolves around Daisy Patel and Liam Murphy, an Indian woman and an Irish man respectively.

Daisy is a strong, independent woman who has no interest in dating Liam Murphy when he proposes for her to be his fake fiancee for his will. In exchange of trying to save the company she works for which is not...going so well. But, sparks fly again when he's the picture perfect guy for her. The only problem? He stood her up at prom 10 years ago and she doesn't know if she could trust him with her heart again.

I absolutely LOVE Daisy and Liam's banter and spreadsheets for the dates through the book. Liam being pissed everytime she brought up their arrangement and her calling him her 'humraaz'.

I could so relate to Daisy at points in the book.

Liam could get his own paragraph from me. He's THE guy for Daisy. He embraces her culture with so much love and was an instant yes from her aunties when they met him. He's possessive, caring and utterly in love with Daisy.

Oh, and the smut? Yes.

100% recommend!!

i’ll come back to this to write a more detailed review but THIS BOOK WAS SOOOOO GOOD OMG it surpassed all the books i’ve previously read thus far… THAT’S how good it was!!!!!!!!!! 10/10 would read again, i’d actually buy this book to permanently have a copy :o (update: WHY am i just now finding out that this is a second book in a series???? i srsly thought it was a stand alone!!! well it could be bc the story was fine on its own LOL but looking @ the first book, i’m intrigued bc i recognize the female and male leads so maybe i’ll have to check that book out too hmm)

update: it’s 08/21 and i never came back to give a detailed review :’( BUT i still think this book was so good!!!!! def one of my top 3 so far!!!!

i took too long to come back that i don’t rlly remember much about the story… but there was def the nerdy girl & bad boy trope PLUS younger sister of the friend & brother’s best friend trope so eye think that counts for something!!!! also the fl was super smart and def knew her worth even tho she wavered a bit bc ml tugged @ her heartstrings too many times to count ;( then ml def knew his shit too bc he was the ceo of his company!! some angst from their past but their dynamic was too GOOD and has me on the edge of my seat bc i loved their banter!! too bad it wasn’t as memorable now that i think about it… still a fun, lighthearted read tho!! :D

i didn't really vibe with the characters. i really enjoyed it at the beginning, but once i got more into liam and daisy spending actual time together, liam seemed...different? learning about his character, he seemed so reserved and like a decent dude. then during their first "date" he brings up sex like 3 times? idk, just so weird to me...
