We all know how difficult it is to write a sequel that can follow up and deliver, especially when the first one came out with such a hard bang! But man, Susan Ee just blew me out of the water. This was a fantastic sequel, filled with character development and mystery and struggle on both the grand and smallest of scales. There aren't enough words that can help me explain what I felt during my read; it was gritty and gripping, funny and terrifying and heartbreaking. I must applaud Ms. Ee for the gargantuan task she has set before herself by crafting this book. 5/5 stars!

It's so nice when a sequel lives up to the original. This was a great addition to the World After and left you wanting to pick the next one up right away.
This book isn't /as/ good as Angelfall, and some events in the book are pretty contrived, but the second half definitely made up for the slow start. Once Penryn and Raffe caught up to each other, the story started moving more quickly & was a lot more fun. Less humour in this book as well, but that's not a hige negative (it IS the World After after all!).

It took me FIVE DAYS to read a book I would usually read in FIVE OR SIX HOURS. So many things had happened and everything was so intense I had to put it away from time to time to breath and think.
I knew the story would get better but not THIS MUCH BETTER.
I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Amazing. Missed Raffe so much for most of the book. But as soon as they were reunited the laughter wouldn't stop. Love these characters and this story! Can't wait for the next book in the series!!
