I had a rough start with this one but once I picked it back up I had to finish it. And by the way, I literally laughed out loud every time Penryn called the sword Pooky Bear.

I have to say that I enjoyed this second book way more than the first one.
Penryn was much more intelligent in the decisions she made here. Mostly at the end. I do understand that at first things were difficult with her sister and she made some mistakes but she redeem her actions at the end.
Paige broke my heart. I love that little girl and what she's now most horrible. I am rooting for her because I think she will have a much bigger role in the third book.
Raffe is still bae. I love him. His new wings are kinda epic but I do also miss his old ones.
Pooky Bear is the best name ever for an angel sword btw.
Loved loved loved the relationship development on Penryn and Raffe.
Loved the book. Still there were some problems mostly with the erring still w the soooo many cliche lines and silly dialogue.
Can't wait to read End Of Days

Although I enjoyed the first book, I felt that this one didn’t really have as much of an impact. For a start, did Paige really have to get kidnapped again? I felt it was a little predictable, if tedious, but I did enjoy the ending which built up. I also liked how we got to see things from Raffe’s and Pooky Bear’s point of view, not to mention that name! It was interesting to see another layer to angelic society also, with the elections and politics of it all.

I don't even know what to say. The ending was so amazing. I didn't expect that at all. I knew Paige could control the scorpions, and that was fantastic. Also Penryn's sword... Incredible!

Starting off I just want to say, I LOVE PENRYN! She's probably one of my favorite protagonists ever. She's just plain cool and never ever let's herself become a damsel in distress.
I loved that we start pretty much on top of where the first book ended. It wasn't as fast paced as the first with a lot of the action being spread out, but that didn't kill it for me. I did miss me some Raffe and was definitely feeling his absence through the book, but it just made it all the sweeter when they met up again (can you say adorable sarcastic sass fest?).
The main scorpion monsters are just plain ol NASTY, and Paige was heartbreaking.
Overall I give it a 4 and I'm hyped for when I can get my hands on End of Days.

Beautiful! I love this series. This is usually my least favorite book trope where the main female and male character are separated for a long time but there is just so much action going on that it worked. Although I was definitely happy when they got back together! I'm excited and sad to read the final book now!
