Almost a perfect sequel. Very complex, emotional and bloody. The ending was epic, some events were totally unpredictable, the writing was so cinematic This book was literally like a movie in my head, but unfortunately it have some unnecessary events and scenes. Anyway, I loved this sequel, and without a doubt I think that Susan Ee, is the most talented female author with the most powerful writing style ever. Thank you for this Susan!
I really enjoyed the first book, but I just couldn't get into this one.
Pen and Raffes interactions and the feeling of dread and isolation that came from the two of them trekking through a post apocalyptic world by themselves made up a lot of what I liked and we just don't get that here - at least not in the beginning. And I wasn't intrigued enough by Pen being around the revolutionists and a whole bunch of other survivors to stick around and see if that feeling would come back.
In the end, I'm not necessarily the target demographic for YA novels, and this is one of those books where I reeally notice that.

Still a brilliant book compared to all the YA out there, but there was something missing that Angelfall had. Penryn is definitely one of my favorite heroines; she can kick ass without the bow and arrows.

This book is on a whole new level and created a world so uniquely gruesome and wonderful!
I NEED THE LAST BOOK ASAP TO KNOW HOW IT ALL ENDS FOR PENRYN AND RAFFE!!!

I am so happy that the second book in this series is just as good as the first. I was a bit worried it would drop off in quality like a lot of series do but it hasn't.
The world Penryn lives in has expanded quite a bit. You find out more about what happened to Paige. There is nonstop action happening the the characters. Even though Ryn and Raffe do not reunite until near the end of the book, the book keeps your reading and wanting to see what happens next.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series and hope it will be just as good.

Even though this is the middle child of the trilogy I enjoyed this installment more than I expected to.
Yes its YA, Yes its Fantasy / Dystopian and YES there are quite a few sections that really stretched the imagination to the breaking point but damn it was fun reading!

This was still a really good book, but like so many other people, I felt this one was not as strong as the first one. The first half of this book is a lot of information, and although there's action, it's not as exciting as what I was expecting. I still like Penryn, but I feel like she's stronger with Raffe as companion and partner, than her being alone or with her mother. I was so glad when she made her way into the angels party and reunited with Raffe, that's when things really started to happen. Oh gosh that scene with Raffe when they first arrive to the beach house, was so sweet and heartbreaking. This relationship is one of those that you want to root for, but you're afraid to get your hopes up because this just cannot end well.
