Okay. I never in my existence thought I would enjoy this series. Not after reading all the reviews, not after realising the plot seems to repeat, over and over. Yet, I found myself in somewhat of a reading slump where I only enjoyed reading Anna's books.
I feel I became more and more addicted to the series as I went on, it's a commitment and I feel that this last book is everything I needed. It really had a different feel to it than the others in the series and in my opinion was the best. The only comment I have is that it wasn't long enough!! We need more of Anna's work, always!

This book really had an immense amount of growth for Hardin which really was essential to the story if he wanted to maintain a relationship with Tessa and for that I applaud Anna, it was done in a way that was gradual and not too dramatic and I feel that's not an easy task.

Overall, I will be keeping an eye on Anna's releases and hope for more, I will be reading Before by Anna Todd very soon.

This one is better than the previous ones. I think the series redeems itself a bit. Just FYI.

Ugh...y'all... I shamefully LOVE the After series. Or, I loved the first 2 books and some of the third. But this one? I felt robbed. My rating hovers between 2.5-3 stars and I have no idea what that ending was - so many time jumps I felt like like the author wasn't sure how to conclude the story and it felt very "can this just end?"

Most of the book is very repetitive. And we finally get to see Tessa as a stronger FMC, which was sorely needed. But it all felt very superficial.

I'm disappointed, but if you've read the other books you deserve some closure so hang in there and finish this one!

5 stars for After Ever Happy by Anna Todd. This is book four in the After Series.
“It is ironic, really: the man who hates the world is most loved by it.”
This has to be my favorite book from the series. This book had a somewhat different feel to it from the first three books. There is still drama and so much heartache but with a somber feel. After everything that has happened to Tessa from Hardin finally breaking her, finding her father dead, and everything else it has changed her. She is forced to take a look at everything that has happened in her life. Her relationship with Hardin is toxic. She decides to make a change, but she does still love Hardin.
“ I feel like I’m drowning, and it’s hard to keep myself above water, especially when I’m fighting against the current to save him rather than myself.”
This part had me feeling empty. I thought they were done, and over. I was devastated, what was going to happen between these two. I don’t want to give too much away, but this book will break you and slowly put you back together.
I can not explain how much I loved and hated this book . I don’t know if a book has every made me question so much. Will these two end up together, will they separate, will they move on , just so many questions. Is this an example of the saying “sometimes love isn’t enough” true for Hardin and Tessa. This series is gut wrenching, drama filled, heart breaking, and so filled with love. While reading you will feel as though you are a part of this relationship with these two. Great Job Anna Todd

“There’s always another day, there’s always a way to make up for the shit you’ve done and the people you’ve hurt, and there is always someone who loves you”

Wow. What a chaotic mess this series is & made of my life. Of the series, I liked this one the best because I felt like it had an actual plot outside of just their relationship or lack there of. But not the entire time & the solutions to those plots seemed rushed compared to the nagging question of will Hessa survive this?

I have no spoilers to give, but no I won’t recommend this book. Being totally honest the series would not have been bad if it wasn’t so dang long. There was SO much that was just so unbearably unnecessary. It could have been fully summed up in one book.

It wasn’t a COMPLETE waste of time but I hated how in the last book we were suppose to see their relationship as unhealthy instead of abusive. We were suppose to forgive Hardin so effortlessly, even root for him at times. In all, the series was nothing but infuriating.

I understand how it is intoxicating— somehow you are dragged into this relationship with these two. Honestly if it wasn’t for Landon, I don’t know if I would have even bothered to finish the first book. Thankfully he sticks around & is able to remind me that not everyone Anna Todd writes is so annoying.
