I’m frustrated. Book 3 was almost 900 pages. Every little detail was drawn out and we got to experience everything. Then this book is only 502 pages, and the damn time jumps at the end left out so much that could have been. After reading this thick ass series I’m a little disappointed that the ending was so brief- snippets of what was important in our beloved character’s relationship. I have read through so many arguments and seen Hardin make changes that I didn’t think he would, felt all the emotions, and I feel so fucking short changed. I wanted more. I wanted the satisfaction of their fist night moved in together, I wanted to witness the marriage, the gaps to be filled where having (what we thought) was the impossible baby. We deserved it. We deserved more. Especially after waiting for Tessa to make up her damn mind. I sincerely hope the the movies give us the ending that we all deserved because this glossed over version wasn’t it.
I feel like the author took us too far with Tessas need to be alone and when she turned us back around it wasn’t the turn around we needed. Tessa just says ok, let’s get married, and everything is magically ok, our characters happy and less passionate. I know Hardin broke Tessa but where was the “put together”?!!? Ugh. The more I think about it the more frustrated I get.

...weil Hardin es endlich mal geschafft hat, sich zusammenzureißen und zu bessern. Ich bin SO froh, dass das Buch nun hinter mir liegt.

I am actually surprised with the fact I liked this book. Don’t get me wrong I still think that the relationship of Tessa and Hardin is abusive and sick and that such type of relationships shouldn’t be described as romance as in books 1 to 3. Book 4 shows for the first time a different side of Tessa and Hardin and they both grow and learn how to be in a healthier relationship. Compared to the first three books which were complete rubbish I think this one was actually good and gave us some closure to the story between Hardin and Tessa.
I loved this series, but this book did not hit. After everything they went through and how much Hardin grew, it had a depressing ending. It felt like this relationship sucked the life out of Tessa, but she wouldn't have been happy with anyone else. Hardin's character development was fantastic, Tessa's was not. She seemed like she was desensitized and void of being able to be happy.
OMG....I loved this series so much!!! This book was the perfect ending to the story! It was heartbreaking at times and refreshing at others!!! I absolutely loved it!!
medium-paced
I love a good slow-burn as much as anyone else, but there’s slow and then there is this. All of the books were painfully dragged out while the ending was too rushed.
We had to read nearly 4 books of an incredibly toxic relationship, which most of stretches over one year, just to only get to see their healthy and happy relationship in only the last 5% OF THE WHOLE SERIES!
If we would have been able to have at least half of the last book focusing on the healthy aspect of their relationship, it probably would have been okay.
I’m glad I finally finished, but I’m left feeling disappointed.

I read this extremely fast. I both wanted the story to be over so badly but also needed to know how it was going to end that I didn’t stop until I was done. I’m glad it ended the way it did because all of the drama leading up to it was insane.
