Wow. What a conclusion. That last line - I have no words.
Greg Tremblay is AMAZING.

Honestly, one of the best series I’ve ever read. It was moving. It was exciting. Incredible pacing. Very few slow moments and everything felt brisk. Best part of finishing a series is if the author sticks the landing. And he did. It was heartfelt. Memorable. And oh so satisfying.

Like many others, I found the first two books were incredible. This one’s a bit different.
Goddard’s end was anti climactic and confusing. Rand obviously supplanted Tyger’s memories into Goddard’s mind. Or did she do something else? I’m unsure. Goddard was such a good villain and yet he went out with a fizzle and not a bang. How disappointing. I would’ve loved to have read about a massive showdown.
Another issue I had was that Rowan’s story felt very monotone. He gets captured, Goddard/someone has big plans for him, he’s imprisoned for a while/ forced to do something he doesn’t want until he escapes at the last minute and gets away. Scythe Lucifer was such an intriguing part of the second book that it s a shame it didn’t get more runtime.
Generally I liked Jeri’s character. But it did feel very performative to mention Jeri’s gender fluidity in. Every. Single. Chapter. Where was the need? The reader understands from the first time it’s mentioned that Jeri is gender fluid . Give your character more dimension please. It’s unnecessary.
A lot happened in this novel and I found it difficult to follow at times because of the time jumps. Doesn’t help that the years aren’t numbered, but referred to by animals. Some of the parts towards the end also felt a little rushed. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed reading this a lot, but it was a disappointing end to the series.
